Shot selection is what the offense needs to work on next. Trimboli had a nice high to low score but then reverted right back to the easy high to high save. Couple others guys with that issue as well. Albany greatly misses Fields and Ierlan. No doubt that offense will generate goals but they need to figure out who's going to quarterback. Boys did a good job shadowing Nanticoke and making the rest of the offense step up. Too bad Coach Marr's emotions got the better of him at the end and diminished any chance of a come back with those three non releasable one minutes penalties. Kennedy was great and I like his confidence in transition to push but sometimes he needs to be better aware of what's going on around him. He had a couple turnovers trying to force transition offense when it wasn't there. Porter didn't let that first goal get him down and made some great stops.

No HHH last week but an abundance of it today. Hopefully todays team is the one that plays the rest of the season.

Very exciting 13-5 game. Eagle and Powell do a tremendous job for the Orange. Powell should call a lot more games. Surprised to hear this was Voight's first 4+ goal game???? What is Nanticoke without Fields???? We will learn.

Nice win no doubt but let's see which team shows vs a very solid Army team, that just upset Rutgers on their home field.

What's nice to know, tech, is that there is a Cuse team that can show up and play the way the one did yesterday. The memory of that Gate game hasn't faded much, have to hope it was just the medicine the doctor ordered, a little dose of humble pie and a big reminder that every team that comes into that Dome is looking to feast on Cuse, seems as if the taste of that W in the Dome is mighty sweet, those Gate boys will be talking about that one for many years to come.
Never a question about what Army will bring, always a tough team that will bring it for sixty minutes. The Cuse team that showed up yesterday has to show up for that one. It's still February, lot of lacrosse left to play, but you've sure got more hope now than you did a week ago.

We learned what he is when he runs into a D man like Bomberry. Bomberry owned him, virtually took him out of the game. Despite last year's blow out, I didn't think he did a bad job on him last year either. Bomberry is a tough, strong, and savvy D man who knows Nanticoke well, I'm sure Tehoka is hoping he doesn't run into too many more like him.
Cuse's D was really pretty watch yesterday. I'm sure #9 for Albany has seen enough of Mellen, kid couldn't move without Mellen in his face...he's another one who was pretty much just taken out the game.
Despite its being very early in the season and not knowing what Albany's really got (1st game) Cuse needed this kind of performance badly, was a pretty big win all things considered.

Nice bounce back win. Always more fun when a competitive Cuse is in the D1 mix. They were inspired yesterday. Quick question dmac, what happened to the plan to play outdoors for one season? I recall this being talked about perhaps two seasons ago as part of a Dome renovation.I believe Coyne field was the alternate location. Was the renovation plan abandoned by the University?

Don't remember any talk about them playing outside but the renovations are definitely still on.

Pretty miserable weather conditions for the Gate game, Albany game wasn't a toasty day either, gotta love that Dome for Feb, March lacrosse in Syracuse (both players and fans).

National Anthem singer, Gate game: A
National Anthem singer, Albany game : A
Nicely done, ladies.
A+, B,B-, and C slots still open.
Plenty of games left in the Dome.

Need to bring the 3 year old in, put number 22 on the tyke and let him sing. Live performance in the Dome by the local young heart melter. Little sizzle might draw another 1,500.

Check this out active duty and vets, got to appreciate that.
Guess that makes it active duty and vets appreciation day too.
Syracuse will face Army at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Carrier Dome. It’ll be military appreciation day, with $2 tickets available to active duty and military veterans by showing their military ID at Gate B.
Seems to me as if that kind of works out to be able to get two dome foams for a buck. Two seven dollar beers = fourteen bucks + two bucks for the ticket = sixteen bucks. One ticket normally fifteen bucks. Labatt math works for me.

Not lacrosse related but wow, rough night in the Cuse.
https://www.syracuse.com/crime/2019/02/ ... i-690.html
Cuse-Duke hoops in the Dome Sat, 35K+ tickets sold (game is still on according to the news) ESPN game day to be here (Gronk and brothers too). Zion Williamson goes down last night (no way he's 100% by Sat the way I see it) and this tragedy weighing on JB's mind. Sure feels like a dark cloud hanging over this event.

Duke is the only team I enjoy watching even when they are beating SU. I share your sentiments and feel the numbness that comes with real life serious events. To Jim and Zion and the poor guy who died: we're all with you...

Yeah, pretty terrible night for college hoops. Looks like the injury won't have a long-term effect on ZW if it truly is a mild sprain with a stable knee, but I can't imagine what JB is going through and what that incident will do to his focus and concentration (I'm sure I would be a mess). It's a tragedy, and I wish all involved the best.

Be interesting to see Nikes culpability and responsibility for the shoe.

I don't ever remember a disclaimer on shoes "Wear at your own risk."

Nice win Cuse! Other than some 4th qtr fatigue, some of the best team D the Orange have played in long time.

Army fared pretty well considering the face-off differential. UVA struggled with face-offs for a while against Princeton. Though the freshman FOGO picked it up as the game wore on, the UVA wing men, usually among the best, didn't have their best day. Will Bomberry be back for the Cuse? Has Kraus recovered completely? Burkinshaw set a stadium record at Class of 52. Can he come up with 20 plus saves in the Dome? Cuse's first midfield poses problems for any d. Does UVA pole Trimboli or Curry? UVA runs two poles with the third playing a few seconds and runs five dms. I think Dzhama is considered the best cover dm, but he is usually the fourth or fifth to enter the game. He was hurt last year. Maybe that accounts for his relatively limited pt this year, but I think the philosophy is just more is better and keep em fresh. Does Cook continue as a fourth attackman and fourth guy on the second midfield, or will he finally get a start. He was on the hands team at the end of the game today.
Today was the best team d I have seen recently from the Cuse. If Bomberry returns, 90 has gained enough experience now that he can spell both Kennedy at pole and any injured close dman.
The Army West Point goalie was good all day, and I expect a good, maybe great game from Burkinshaw, but I don't think 11 goals will be enough to win. Can UVA win with a quiet game from Aitken? They seem to be developing more scoring options.

Was that way v Albany too, tech, the D has been playing some very stingy defense, just don't give you much space, putting a lot of stick on people too. Seem to always be in your face. Mellen's gotta be annoying to play against as an attackman, he's just right next to you with an annoying stick for the entire game.
Mr. Bomberry not suited up, wasn't liking that. Bit injured, I guess but he'll be back.

not sure what this means, molo. conrad has now been neutered from offense the last 2 games, only conner from the other "top 4" has more than 5 shots thru 4 games, and the one with 5 shots is the fogo.
uva on offense is 4 guys right now, hoping to keep up with their d. burkinshaw does that every week, they have a fighter's chance, at least.

Nope, wasn't me. Pretty sure I was singing a different tune at that point, went a little something like, "get this b**ch Jakob, can't be lettin' Army tie this one up now"
Phaub has been unbelievable, both today and v Albany. Seems to be a hidden treasure along with Porter

Thanks for the singing reminder,
This week's National Anthem singer, B-.
