Saint Joseph’s didn’t make the cut, but its a crowded field,
I’m guessing they’re number 27,

Tucker Brown is back, he had a couple years left when Furman
shut down,
Brown is a definite All American.

UNC over Jacksonville is indefensible. UNC over a lot of teams is indefensible, but that one is insane. Jacksonville was better last year, lost less, and added more. If you put those two teams on the field today, Jacksonville would be favored by at least 2.5 and probably more.

If it is true about Walbaum coming back for one more year,
you are talking about a boatload of offense which I can’t see
the UNC team I saw last year being able to defend against,

this would be a good match up though,
I’d pay to see UNC-Jax …

… make it happen.

Not only is Tucker Brown back so is Levi Anderson, Matt Bomer and Carter Page their whole attack unit. How their not in top 25 is crazy. Oh they return their goalie too. That team is gonna be legit this yr.

St Joe's really impressed me when I saw them in person. Not a traditional "name" team, but lots of talent; should have been in the 15-11 range, if not better.

St Joes also added Wagners best player in Steven Dwyer. I also saw Carter Page is playing attack for Team Canada U21 with Owen Hiltz and Ross Scott. All that talent and not In the top 25 is pretty silly. I'm not even a fan just know the talent on that team. Lol

I seriously don't get UNC at this point getting any ranking. Their defense was absolutely atrocious last year, their offense was pretty much Chris Gray. Yes, they have a good goalie and a lot of potential young talent. But until that talent produces, it's ridiculous to say they're the 15th best team...

Wouldn't be surprised if the 'usual suspects (Maryland, UVA, ND, Duke or Georgetown) fill four of the top five along with one Ivy and the three remaining Ivies and Rutgers fall into 6-10.

On this site, concur.... Not sure I would limit it to just the top 10-25 either.

Not sure about Princeton as the 3rd Ivy team. St. Joe’s not being anywhere at all in the Top 25 is absolutely crazy.

Really feels like Stevens watched way less games this year and is just going off conventional wisdom or narrative. His UNC ranking makes no sense. He spends the whole time explaining why they WON’T be good

The realignment has some interesting contender matchups w Jax/UTah/RoMo in the Asun and, for 2023 at least, Richmond and St Joes. Not necessarily and even swap but presuming Derrek Madonna is using his fifth year with his brother at Richmond I think their offense won’t skip a beat. The younger Madonna may be better than Derrek and those two will be the 2 & 3 scoring options behind Dalton Young (Lance Madonna had 25,12 as a Soph mid last spring was fifth on the team in pts).

When it was first reported that LaCalandria was going to St Joes I didn’t see the fit at all. Dwyer, on the other hand is a nice addition for St Joes. Big physical downhill kid fits in perfectly w Brown, Page etc.

The Asun and new A10 look more interesting than the old NEC and AE across the landscape.

Bucknell could also be interesting, very young team last spring and I think their FR Connor Davis will be the next big name in the PL. Return Davis (6’4” 205 FR who had 45g,7a,52pts) and Dutch Furlong who had 56pts.

We’ve seen Bucknell put together top 10-15 teams every handful of years (surprised he only has one playoff appearance thought there was more) under Feds. If the D has enough they could be in the mix.

Dutch Furlong is one of the best lacrosse names in the sport!

I would laugh so damn hard if that's the case. I mean these rankings don't matter at all besides fans talking about them because we're bored, but that would be freaking hilarious.

Geez, these people just won’t let it go,

4. NOTRE DAME
2022 record: 8-4 (5-1 Atlantic Coast)

Last seen: Ripping off six victories in a row to close out the season, only to be stunned by a Selection Sunday snub that arguably left one of the nation’s top five teams on the sideline for the NCAA tournament.
Look at the trend though,
ND had a lousy 1st round game in 2021 and should have lost except for some 4th quarter flubs by Drexel.
2022, miss the tournament.
In the real world, ND will have to prove their worth this year, and not just fall back on the automatic ACC team gets a pass.
