Interesting, Out of the Furnace was a great movie. I'd imagine there are some real unsavory types just like Woody's take on Harlan DeGroat. Real frightening guy. Great movie. Thanks for the enlightenment didn't realize it's been that long of a downturn.

Excellent movie. It had had been on my “to watch” list for years. Hell or High Water is also on my list…have you watched it?
That one is one my list for sure. Ben Foster is an awesome actor. My favorite role of his is Alpha Dog. Bruce Willis also great in it.

Another pickup for GU, this time a class of 2022 flip:

4 star Wilson Van Buren ‘22, F/O, Blessed Trinity Catholic (Ga.) has flipped from @DartmouthMLax to @HoyasMLacrosse:
A sturdy technician with excellent hands, Van Buren took a giant step forward in the last year or so:

Not saying Hoyas don’t have best class overall but Duke clearly has to be considered best class in terms of top commits. I love the Hoyas ‘23 class and think the staff has done an amazing job. The young stud that wouldn’t consider Georgetown 6-7 years ago is not just considering but committing. I think that speaks to the culture that exists now, the success Georgetown has had the past few years on the field, and then add the Thompson Center and Copper field facilities. With all that and a tremendous academic institution, Georgetown has a great offering for great players and their parents.

That is a great addition for sure and entire OOC schedule looks to be very legit. Hoyas schedule should be out soon. Believe another game was added last week as well which may have slowed the release.

Excellent picks. Both are great young men and leaders by word and by example. With a very strong group of upperclassmen, leadership will be a big asset for the team this season. Let’s go Hoyas!

Another solid 2023 commitment:

4⭐️ junior Jack Leland ‘23, M, Gonzaga (D.C.) / @MADLAX1 has committed to @HoyasMLacrosse
An athletic two-handed middie who was excellent in July, Leland does all of the little things really well and provides a boost between the lines and both ways: https://youtube.com/watch?v=G5E9LWCEsS8

The momentum is continuing for this program.

Duke already has the number 1, 2, 4 and 6 ranked prospects in their recruiting class. That's INSANE. four 5 stars, three 4 stars. i also would think they're not done.

the gtown class is good, i don't think it compares with duke.

Both Duke and Georgetown have great classes. As a GU fan, the fact that GU is even in this debate comparing it with a top program is a welcome development. This looks like several very good classes in a row, and portends well for the future. Now we will see how GU does playing against an upgraded OOC schedule this year.

As Big U would say - “if you wanna run with the big dogs, you gotta get off the porch.

Love the OOC schedule. The talent and schedule didn’t mesh for a few years. It does now.

Very nice new tradition for Georgetown lacrosse. The memorial “Remo Run” will now be an annual 3 mile run the week of Thanksgiving. Chris, wore #3 and was one of the first truly great Hoya players. He graduated in 1995 as a 2x All American and helped lay the foundation for the success the program would have in the years to follow. The team ran together at Georgetown and many alums ran in his honor as well all over the country. Chris was an incredible person and was lost way too young. God Bless.
