There's been some smoke on some of the Maryland boards that he's headed there or at least that Maryland is definitely interested.

He'd fit perfect on the right wing for them if Wisnauskas doesn't take his 6th year of eligibility. He also could be a really good X guy for them as well even if Wisnauskas comes back, sliding in for Bernhardt.

So Corrigan's plan after adding 5 grad transfers in 2020 didn't get them over the hump to the Final Four is to....add another 4 grad transfers who aren't as good as the 4 he added last year?

Interesting plan, cotton

Sources confirmed that Drexel's Aidan Coll
recently entered the NCAA's portal as a grad
transfer after exploding for 33 goals and 11 assists
as a senior
Great pick up for the right team, for the right Grad
program.
Hill School prep.
Worked hard to develop into one of the top pure
crease attackmen.

Corrigan came a lot closer to losing that 1st round
game than people realize,
a lot of their weaknesses exposed.
Its now year 3 of the Pat Kavanaugh era,
so Corrigan is all in.

Most there are grad transfers,
one year eligibility only,
which,
its looking like you’re putting yourself in the market
mostly for the top five or so teams, teams trying for
the national title.

Two interesting names,
Luke Blanc, a talented attack four years eligibility left,
Russ Maher, IL top xxxx from UVA, hybrid, also I believe
with all his eligibility left.

“There’s something to be said for not having to get guys acclimated to your culture….You have to be careful of totally bringing in 10 or 15 new guys. I think that’d be hard, especially if it’s only for one year. "The adjustment [for grad transfers], it was just harder. They didn’t get a chance to gel socially….they also didn’t get as much practice time.” Tillman via @mattkinnear on twitter.

No one brings in 10-15 grad transfers, but I get the point. One wonders if guys who thought it would be their turn rode the bench because of multiple grad transfers, with ND, Duke Denver and Rutgers the most egregious. Could that have hurt the chemistry of a few of these teams?

Teams like UVA, MD, and Georgetown brought in a 1 or 2 pieces only, and did well at their respective levels. An interesting conundrum...

The kid that committed to your school in the 11th grade or earlier gets screwed out of playing time because the kid that didn’t commit is now available. I hope Corrigan and his ilk continue to have the “success” they are so well known for...

For the record, the Terps have the following transfers/grad students on their roster:
Holden, Wisnauskas, Brown, Brandau, Smith, Burlace, Grill, Higgins, Trucksess.

I agree. The entire transfer imbroglio underscores the fact that some coaches view their side of the "commitment" as a long-term agreement to develop and mentor while others consider their obligations to be discharged following admission. Starry-eyed recruits (and their parents) would do well to add this factor to their school-selection calculus.

Reminder that some of the teams that only took in 1 or 2 transfers did not do so on purpose. They went after other guys too, but just weren't able to land them. We don't necessarily know how hard these coaches pounded the portal just by looking at the final results.

Having said that, two seasons in a row now where ND is out ahead of everybody in the transfer game. Part of that is likely the strength of its graduate business programs but I also don't think it's a stretch to suggest Corrigan is an early and active participant in this market.

Not to mention the class the got screwed the most (2020s) don’t get an extra year of eligibility.

Imagine having the arrogance to think your kid deserves playing time?

I don't think this is all that dissimilar from ND's long history of "poaching" commits. Corrigan is certainly not afraid to go his own way and potentially ruffle some feathers at other programs. Tourney results notwithstanding, it did seem like ND picked and integrated last year's grad transfers better than Duke for example. Gallagher, Thornton and Yorke all seemed to be major contributors, and, with the exception of Gallagher, all filled pretty obvious holes. I'm scratching my head a bit on the announced transfers for next year, but I guess we'll see.

Can't say I really like this level of free agency. I hope it doesn't become the norm and fades as the classes with 5 years of eligibility roll off.

Tough to choose from those players,
Wisnauskas seems like the obvious pick
as top transfer pick up.

But I’d have to go with Nick Grill and Eric Holden.
Grill has worked his way to being the top cover guy
in the country.
Holden, was patient, earned a top grad degree, and
now is contributing where the Terps need him to contribute.

Is there a degree of better/worse when discussing "poaching" players in the recruiting process versus from current NC$$ rosters?
