'06 pointed out that the roster looks mostly updated for 2023. There are some big boys in this freshman class:

Collison 6'4'' 220
Brown 6'2'' 200
Bigelow 6'4'' 220
Smith 6'2'' 205
Didden 6'3'' 200
Billings 6'4'' 200

Take with a grain of salt but Collison is listed at attack
That’s a good class.

Its potentially transformative 😎
Ah, but size doesn't always equal success.
I’d rather lose with 6’4 than a lineup of smurfs
lol you wouldn't take Chris Gray?

lol I’m not naming the midfielders labeled smurfs as I’m not sure any of them should be mentioned in the same sentence as Chris Gray

Have PM and JK been able to recruit a Top 10 ranked player thus far in their tenure?

Haven't seen any five star recruits yet, but according to them, IL rankings mean nothing to them at all and they don't even consider them.

If Matt Collison wasn't, he should be. The lax world will find out soon enough

Isn’t Collison now given 5 stars by Il?

Quent Buchman, #3 IL recruit out of California, a lot of hoopla.
2 goals, 2 assists total in 3+ years for ND.

The NFL spends a LOT on developing matrices, traveling, film, etc to evaluate players. They still have a ways to. Lacrosse does not provide comparable resources to its coaches. I don’t care much for stars or the process. It can be suggestive and another data point aggregation.

To me a coach’s job is to put the players on the field that give his team the best chance to win based on what thsy see on the field. Stars mean nothing once players arrive on campus.

Only 2024 recruit listed on IL is a SSDM from Lawrenceville. Very early in this cycle. Except for the service academies, who need to identify kids for the process early, most schools have at most 1 or 2 recruits.

He was a '23 who is reclassifying as a '24 after transferring from Chesire to L'Ville. Same deal with FO Joe Hobot after transferring from Smithtown East to Loomis. So technically we have two '24 recruits but both committed several months ago as '23s.

I guess flalax gets to see the Jays in person in February. Hopefully that game is on TV/streaming, not sure what platform Jax home games are on

school uses the IL stuff in the bios they do on the kids, so they do matter to someone at the north end of campus.
For 51, by my rough count we're at about 50 going into the season, one of the smallest rosters in awhile. Evans is a legacy, Hawley, not sure about the new kids
Hope the kids get a few days in florida. Good bonding. Glad the program is branching out.
On the offense, I guess we went over it last summer/spring, but you now have kids recruited by 2 coordinators, 2 head coaches, on the roster coached by a 3rd offensive coordinator.

If you don't have espn+ the rabil documentary is now available over regular cable.

IL certainly makes Ernie’s job easier: standardization, bio data points etc. I don’t think the coaches base recruitment on the evaluations.
