As a Hofstra fan I give a big thank you to Drexel for putting us in the CAA tourney with a huge comeback! The Hofstra team was gathered to watch and I can't imagine the reaction at end, especially for seniors who now get a second life.

That attack ? They sit around waiting for Kitchens to feed them the ball w time & room shots. I’d be concerned w Acchione, and short stick Robinson who is not a ball carrier. Drexel played Del. twice, the first matchup Delaware got the win. Drexel was just getting the season started. Drexel won the second game 12-9. I like to Drexel to win the Conference 13-11 over Delaware. They dont go deep off the bench, it’s a crafty little group that can score. Plus you have Bowering back who did not play for a while. If the defense can hold serve this is a pretty good team.

Did you ever think that you would live long enough to see Drexel beat both Hofstra and Towson twice in one season?

Yes, and Delaware will have to do the same if they want a rematch with Drexel next Saturday. That’s some heavy lifting.

Hah !
No.

FYI,
we’ll be flying into Phila Wednesday,
and into WC that night.
Finally, out of Kalifornia.

as a hofstra alumna , I think back to the movie Rudi , the notredame football walkon - on the last game , Dan Divine I believe , gave a speech ,on the last game for the season " no one and I mean no one comes in to our house and pushes us around" , so here we are in our house in the CCA tournament , and the players with this their last season , wake up in the morning , look in the mirror and ask yourself when in your heart do you want this journey to end , because when in college lax its over , its really over , good luck

Things were a bit crazy around the NCAA this past weekend. It looked for a while like the Patriot League was going to get the "final" at large bid. But with Army and Lehigh slipping up, that doesn't look like a guarantee. If UD and Drexel both win their semifinal matchup, I really think that the CAA has a shot to be a 2 bid league. Villanova is storming back and making things interesting.

8 at large bids up for grabs:

ACC gets 5
Big 10 gets 1
Big East gets 1 (depending what happens in the tournament)

That leaves one bid up for grabs. If Lehigh wins the Patriot and Army/Navy both get knocked out prior to the PL finals, I really think the Drexel or Delaware could/would grab that last spot. Certainly would be among the first four out.

Edit. Rutgers gets the Big 10 at large.

No, none there.
They’re in NY and FL now.
We’ll are moving back to WC though 👍

Delaware and Drexel keep stacking wins and they don't make a nudge in the polls. Safe to say this will be a 1 bid league unless the committee sees things differently

NCAA, Coaches committees are slow on the uptake,
you’d have thought they’d have learned from those
three Towson teams, the 2018 UMass team,
perceptions are hard things to break.

What about Drexel crushing much-hyped Penn in the first round in 2014? 16-10 or something like that?
2010 and 2011 Delaware put a scare into UNC and Duke, losing by a single goal in both first round games. CAA competes in the NCAAs!
Three teams in the conference have been to the Final Four.

I completely agree and loved that Penn-Drexel matchup but it’s a mixed bag which doesn’t mean it’s a rollover but under appreciated. Just looking back to 2011

2011- Del nearly clips Duke, but Hop toasts Hof
2012 - (undefeated reg season?) UMass gets beat in Rd 1 by Peter Baum, er, Colgate
2013: OSU stomps Towson only to get P’Owned after acting like dbags in pregame warmups to Cornell in QF
2014: Drexel beats Penn but kind of rolled by Denver
2015: Towson stuck in play in but plays a tough rd 1 game against 1 seed ND
2016: towson DID NOT PlAY a PLAY IN GAME SKIPPING TO THE FIRSDT ROUND AND NEVER PLAYED A PLAY IN GAME that year :) on their way to
a tough loss in a good game to Loyola in the QF
2017: Towson FF (1 goal loss there)
2018: yale scrapes by UMass in rd one on way to championship
2019: Towson loses on one of those weirdos like us freak out in message board games to MD in Rd 1

Pretty good outcomes for basically having one bite at the Apple each year.

Good news I guess but having this event in the most restrictive state in the country is plain stupid.

Even though I am a Drexel fan at heart, I would love to see the CAA tournament at Delaware. Now that UD is allowing its men’s lacrosse ream to play in Delaware stadium, it is one of the best places to watch a game, in addition to being easily accessible from I-95. For parents and fans who are planning to stay overnight, Newark offers some of the best college town restaurants and bars.

The CAA had both fall and spring men's and women's championships to schedule this year. Looks like most full members got to host one tournament. Hofstra got MLAX:

Back in January, when this schedule came out, who knew we would be playing any sports in May?

The initial announcement of pre-determined sites was last June and back then they planned to have all teams compete in CAAs.

All six teams seemed like a good idea at the time,
now,
I think it would have been too much.
