that's amazing how long that went on with no staff to come in and break it up.
a decent number of patrons there, is it buffet style everything?
At least it wasn’t Waffle House! I was at Waffle House over a year ago. I took one of my oldest friends there for breakfast when I was back in town. Wanted to get some of that “back at home” experience. Had a nasty waitress as usual. It was a cheap breakfast....maybe $20.00. I left her a $12.00 tip. She perked up. Nothing like a fight at Waffle House. Someone described it as a truck bathroom with a restaurant attached. I try to go once every time I go back home. Luv’s gas stations are a treat too.
A lot of these southern food institutions seem to be wildly overrated unless one is hammered at 2am. Waffle House, Shoneys, The Varsity, whatever that little blue bldg BBQ Place is in Lexington NC off I64, Chik FIL A.

Best thing about waffle house is a greasy sandwich of any kind on the Texas toast. The whole smothered, layered, covered, scattered, duece dropped, etc doesn’t do much when the hash browns are as dry as an old lady’s underparts. Gotta love the perpetual layer of dried syrup on every single counter and table top too.

That $12 tip is huge, I see a lot of $1-$3 tips dropped when I’m at waffle houses which unfortunately my kids love...
I left it because she was a b*tch and wasn’t expecting it.
Killing them with kindness. Excellent.
I love to do that. It’s a sixth sense that you develop over a lifetime.

RIP Anthony. Kitchen Confidential a fave of mine. This is funny...
I knew a guy who would stop in Waffle Houses near Fredericksburg and Dumfries, Va after the bars closed...claims to have had great odds.
Teeth optional but a sure Ive seen guys get lucky. Spent a week in Tampa years ago for my bachelor party at a hotel near a certain establishment called dollhouse and the walk in between sat a Waffle House. Every night at 4am we’d be there, fall down drunk (one guy got a tattoo on his calf completely blotto one night after we had dinner at this LEGIT Cuban joint called Columbia in Ybor City which is as sketchy area if anyone is familiar) and we’d be hoping the workers would come in for a meal after a hard nights work. Never happened unfortunately. Or fortunately.

That week we did pick up a couple at either a club by the water or a casino, guy mostly bald and a hot blonde wife, we’re going to drop them off from the limo at their houseboat and the wife is pulling me and one friend out of the car with the husband saying to the most sober friend of the group “my wife can take a couple of you but can’t handle all of you”. Thankfully the one sorta sober friend kept me from going onto the houseboat. I blacked out that night but am told they had to struggle because I kept going “no it’s cool, they said it would be a cool party at their boat. The dude seems like a nice guy”.
Love Ybor city, especially the lady that rolls cigars on her inner thigh. If you are fortunate, you can score some Cubans. But Covid effed that up. I did get a great deal on some Perdoma’s during the protests. Casa de Montecristo was selling a ton of stock a few weeks ago during protests in the event they got looted.
I love Ybor City as well, but think I’ve established there’s a degenerate strain (I call it Broome County NY blood) in me...

Cuban bread, mojitos, cigars, card games in little bars. But you have to admit the clubs there get interesting after around 11pm or so.

Tell me you know that columbia restaurant I mentioned before though. It’s the first place I’d go if or when I get back to Tampa. (Probably second as a friend is close to Ali Marpet, of five year starting and 2nd rd draft pick out of Hobart game, and his family and I have a semi open invite to his crib and with advance notice to certain bucs facilities so probably hit the Marpet hookup first)

I see that I've been quoted even though I finally used this blocking function. Let me translate whatever was written as it's pretty easy to guess and even if I'm wrong who cares since said person hasn't cared to directly respond and participate like a normal human being anyways.

"TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATS

I'm so important that whatever anyone else writes look at me and how special I am.

TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATS"

Terrific article on the incompetence that has characterized this administration's response to COVID. This was a largely preventable event—one that previous administrations (both Republican and Democrat) were positioned to deal with more successfully.

How are the % of positives doing in the states with spiking increases in cases?

How are hospitalization rates doing in those states?

We know that the worst hit states have declined tremendously both in new cases, % of positive tests, and in hospitalizations.

But spiking cases at high positive testing rates will inevitably lead to hospitalizations.

And if I understand correctly, hospitalizations, though lagging, are beginning to spike as well.

Apparently, a lot of those new hospitalizations are younger folks, so we'd expect higher survival rates, but also apparently the ages are creeping up as the secondary and tertiary spread reaches older family members and other contacts.

And that ultimately means a lot of deaths and damaged health of survivors.

Florida back in the mid 40’s for a daily death total. It has been oddly persistent for over a month.

is there a site or link for countries that closed down their borders and when?
and their procedures when they did?

there were a lot of airplane analogies, but i'm not entirely sure that was the biggest thing he was talking about happening that he believes was preventable.

and it was a long article, probably missed it, which 3 weeks was he talking about?

I am reading that Arizona physicians are asking about prioritization of patients, a la Italy a few months ago. It sounds pretty grave in terms of capacity.

That was the Florida Governor's claim re younger, which is why I used the word "Apparently". I'm not sure they've released actual up to date information with such demographics. That said, I believe I've heard this repeated on a number of stations re Texas too?

Lots of reporting on hospitalizations spiking in the hot areas.

The Miami Herald reported today that Florida is going to start reporting hospitalizations, under pressure to do so.

Texas has soared from under 1500 COVID hospitalizations statewide to over 6,000. that's found on the Texas site.

The Pandemic in the U.S. is Completely Out of Control

Post by DocBarrister »

We just passed 130,000 American deaths from the pandemic. We are heading towards 200,000 dead Americans by the end of the year.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

This is what happens when you elect as president a cognitively deficient, morally repugnant, and malignantly narcissistic piece of trash like Donald Trump. If you supported him, you share in the moral culpability for this horrifying tragedy. We told you Trump was unfit for office, and he has proven us right.

Lots of Americans are dying and being harmed. Houston is now beyond their ICU capacity. Other cities and states will be overwhelmed soon.

Oh ... and did I mention that Trump is a Putin-serving traitor? Yeah ... that’s on Trump’s supporters, too.
