We have the ability to care about how we affect one another. We form governments so that we can make decisions collectively, not simply have anarchy. We make rules that benefit us all, so that we can more efficiently and effectively go about our own pursuit of happiness, etc. We constrain this process here in the US in all sorts of ways so that power does not reside too centrally or unchecked, however we do make rules that govern us.

Back to the virus and mask wearing, and your 'Darwinism', do you think your family, friends, colleagues etc should die because some knuckleheads don't care about them and make bad decisions? You do realize that what is happening with this rapid spread ultimately puts us all at risk, not just those who are getting infected at the moment? Do you not realize the enormous economic costs of needing to reverse course on reopening the economy if this blows up because too many idiots refuse to wear masks, distance, etc?
