Why doesn't tRump follow the plans and recommendations of this "exercise"? WHY?

tRUMP is your hero, why not ask him?
When you get responses like this, you know you are making a valid point.

NO, brookie, I am asking the crowd here. Should we take anything away from Event 201?

Everyone is calling for a plan. As someone just wrote, correctly, bashing the tv realty show guy for NOT having a plan isn't a plan.......oh well,

the day YOU made it about the POTUSA, is the day I looked at v-19 as nothing more than a seasonal flu on steroids........

No problem, Uncle Joe has a plan. His people have not told him yet what the plan is. Joe may not be able to comprehend what the plan is. There is a plan. Maybe Chuck Schumer should be put in charge of the plan. To the best of my knowledge the plan is to blame trump for not having a plan. That is quite the plan. You can call it the passing the buck plan.

"Trump Has Sabotaged America’s Coronavirus Response
As it improvises its way through a public health crisis, the United States has never been less prepared for a pandemic.

The epidemic control efforts unfolding today in China—including placing some 100 million citizens on lockdown, shutting down a national holiday, building enormous quarantine hospitals in days’ time, and ramping up 24-hour manufacturing of medical equipment—are indeed gargantuan. It’s impossible to watch them without wondering, “What would we do? How would my government respond if this virus spread across my country?”

For the United States, the answers are especially worrying because the government has intentionally rendered itself incapable. In 2018, the Trump administration fired the government’s entire pandemic response chain of command, including the White House management infrastructure. In numerous phone calls and emails with key agencies across the U.S. government, the only consistent response I encountered was distressed confusion. If the United States still has a clear chain of command for pandemic response, the White House urgently needs to clarify what it is

If the United States still has a clear chain of command for pandemic response, the White House urgently needs to clarify what it is—not just for the public but for the government itself, which largely finds itself in the dark."
February 2....BAMMM.......the fear porn lies start.
Do you want to debate the merits of the dismantled, REDUNDANT, pandemic response chain of command?
Nope......because, clearly, the CDC and Dr. Brix/Fauci government agencies weren't enough.

Second page in, and the current POTUSA is getting the blame.

Kismet, what part of Event 201 should tRump have followed and implemented.?

Caught sitting on their hands. ,And they still don’t have a clue.

We have the long lockdown, social distancing and wearing masks because our only REAL answer to this day remains- Don’t want to get sick? Stay in your cocoons!

I agree you can spread around the blame. But in the end, the President is the legally-authorized person to most meet the demands of a crisis, "foreign and domestic." You want to dilute the pool of the blameworthy -- OK. But the holder of that office not only gets Harry Truman's maxim tossed at him, he has the legal powers to meet the moment. This President didn't, won't and, in terms of his priorities and character, probably can't.

The Governors by and large seem to have done the work, and some have done better than others. My Governor, a Republican, has done a very good job, under conditions that weren't as fraught with difficulty as many other states. But he and his cohorts in the GOP would tell you privately that the federal government's failures center largely on the Executive Branch's inability and unwillingness to meet the moment.

At this time the rate in China is 3.4%, Italy is 2.6% and South Korea .9%. A lot of China's death occurred with early cases when China was just plain unprepared. Italy is in the early stages of fighting the virus and it is probably not surprising that their mortality rate is still pretty high. South Korea is probably the best example of a modern "western country" fighting the virus for a long enough period for mortality rate to stabilize. This is still 20 times the mortality rate of the average annual flu (and about 10 times the mortality rate of this years flu season). This amounts to 900 deaths for every 100,000 infected as opposed to the average annual flu of 50 deaths for every 100,000 infected (in the US).

Annually the flu kills about 20,000 (on average) in the US. Some years as high as 50,000.
That's NOT what the CDC's stats show..........try again

Should the outbreak be declared a pandemic now?

There currently isn’t evidence that the virus is spreading out of control in many places outside of China. That said, it’s currently challenging to know how much transmission is going on outside of China because a lot of infections appear to be quite mild and thus easy to miss.

IMPOTUS should be LEADING, but he is not.

I also live in a state with r governor, who is doing his best to slow down the spread. That is all that he can do, try to get residents to NOT spread the virus. It is that obvious and simple. Am I wrong?

And he has managed to do so, as we have had declining cases for several weeks now. It sure did stink to have to work from home when possible and face fears of infection when I went to my office and then job sites; even grocery shopping.

Now here in MD, one of the lessons of the past few weeks might be: be careful with taking premature victory laps. We don't know where the NEXT spikes are going to come. Until we've made it through (at least) a year of this thing, avoid hasty conclusions on which practice is best.

Test. Test. Test. Confirm for people that they are well or NOT.
