The second of two; this one is really interesting, particularly the contrasts among the Times's writers/pundits:

AAAhhhhhhh. Democrats Socialist Government takes private insurance away from 180 million Americans so they can GIVE FREE HEALTHCARE to (decriminalized) illegal immigrants strolling across open borders to create a new permanent underclass that votes democrat.

Sounds like a winning strategy!

They're "bright enough" (see Pelosi and the lead Biden still has), but the energy, both emotional and intellectual, is with the most progressive ideas, So Warren plus Bernie have the largest overall share of support right now.

This period is really about sorting through those ideas, and the candidates who espouse them in various versions. When it comes time to pull the lever though, the question will be whether Dem voters prioritize voting for the most extreme versions/candidates or whether they prioritize beating Trump.

Looks to me like Harris might be the candidate who could thread the needle, but it's still super early.
Too pugilistic. Anyone who thinks she (or anyone) can spar with a Trump is delusional. It’s like utilizing old school rules of engagement against guerillas with zero respect or value for human life.

Mayor Pete (or Andrew yang) seem like the best in the middle but he won’t win.

Having energy and momentum is cool and all,but if it’s not harnessed properly and to optimize its benefits then it’s just underused/I utilized capacity that carries deprecaible value at light speed.
His schtick is old and will not get him a single new vote....he was able to bully HRC - will not be tolerated this time around. He won't stalk anyone on the debate stage and he will be on his heels answering for his actual record.

Tweeting and lying wont win it this time....hopefully.

It's a primary; it's early; there isn't a "strategy;" everyone runs to the center eventually. Even a novice stuck on FNC/Trump talking points should know that. Your post is nothing more than a silly bit of trolling.

The sole purpose of these debates, it seems to me anyway, is finding a way to shed candidates by October 1, and firm up the field of candidates who'll make the race to Iowa and New Hampshire. The debates are really an awful way to assess candidates, and the manner in which CNN formatted this little horror show made it worse than usual in my view.

Here's an article that I think fairly summarizes where the candidates are on the so-called issues of the day.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... 216097f607

"The fault line that was exposed between left and center now fully defines the Democratic nomination contest and will continue to do so as the candidates move through the summer and fall and head toward the primaries and caucuses early next year. It ultimately will be up to Democratic voters to resolve the differences, but the choices have become clearer and will now become harder to paper over.

The targets Tuesday were two of the most liberal and leading candidates in the field, Sens. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (Vt.), who were accused of embracing “free-everything . . . fairy tale” policies and making “impossible promises” that could compromise the party’s chances of winning back voters they lost in 2016 — a loss that cost them the White House.

Warren and Sanders more than stood their ground during two spirited hours of sharp and passionate exchanges. At one point, a frustrated Warren shot back to one of her principal antagonists, former congressman John Delaney (Md.), “I don’t understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really can’t do and shouldn’t fight for. . . . I’m ready to get in this fight. I’m ready to win this fight.”

This is a primary in its earliest stages; nothing has been decided. But none of the candidates engaged in the actions of a silly 12-year old whose daddy sends a limo to pick him up after school.

There is a conversation going on in the Democratic Party, that much is pretty certain. But where it will land in a general election with a Presidential and Vice Presidential nominee, I don't think anyone can now say -- except folks like you who prefer to assign a fixed label on all Democrats, as you have been instructed by FNC and the President and the other members of the right wing punditocracy that you visit.

The Clash's 1980's album Sandinista contained many great songs, including

" .......charlie don't surf........" taken from the infamous Apocolypse Now movie. Charlie don't surf has become urban, modern day lexicon for hypocrite, liar and dealbreaker, among others.

T SHIRT idea for Tulsi Gabbard, who I am supporting.

Front says " Donnie don't surf.......

Back says, "..... but Tulsi does"

And then, an underlying campaign theme revolving a newly minted acronym S.U.R.F. and S.U.R.F.I.N.G

Service-To family, neighbors,

Responsibility (To our planet and future generations. End the spend )
Freedoms (Privacy, warrants, FISA, all need to end )

Or another one with the ING standing for

Also, watch for Endless Summer styled designs, still surfing motif , But says ENDLESS WARS, and the surfers are carrying weapons instead of boards.

For the s**tshow that they’ll have to deal with I think the best positioned to handle it publicly is Pete, klobuchar, maybe Gabbard. Yang and Booker but they have no shot it seems.

University of Maryland Hospital ring a bell anywhere? Who do you think owns and operates that? Elon Musk?

The government. The government does. And neither you nor any of your buddies who don't understand how a dictionary work cares.

And that's just one State. Know how many locations UMd Hospital System has? 150. 150 socialist locations.

And you don't care. Just stop with the socialism thing. It's ridiculous.

ya'll are so worried about proving a point - you need to look at how elections are run and won. Being right makes no difference at all. Trump will paint every dem into the corner that 6ft describes.

as far as Harris goes - I am going to be very interested to see how people stitch their heads back together after they explode from realizing that Kamala will be running even more to the right of Donald than Hillary did!
STILL somewhere back in the day....
