Yes, especially if the Ds don't start tacking to the center. Which they do not seem bright enough to do.

They're "bright enough" (see Pelosi and the lead Biden still has), but the energy, both emotional and intellectual, is with the most progressive ideas, So Warren plus Bernie have the largest overall share of support right now.

This period is really about sorting through those ideas, and the candidates who espouse them in various versions. When it comes time to pull the lever though, the question will be whether Dem voters prioritize voting for the most extreme versions/candidates or whether they prioritize beating Trump.

Looks to me like Harris might be the candidate who could thread the needle, but it's still super early.

Too pugilistic. Anyone who thinks she (or anyone) can spar with a Trump is delusional. It’s like utilizing old school rules of engagement against guerillas with zero respect or value for human life.

Mayor Pete (or Andrew yang) seem like the best in the middle but he won’t win.

Having energy and momentum is cool and all,but if it’s not harnessed properly and to optimize its benefits then it’s just underused/I utilized capacity that carries deprecaible value at light speed.

His schtick is old and will not get him a single new vote....he was able to bully HRC - will not be tolerated this time around. He won't stalk anyone on the debate stage and he will be on his heels answering for his actual record.

Tweeting and lying wont win it this time....hopefully.

It's a primary; it's early; there isn't a "strategy;" everyone runs to the center eventually. Even a novice stuck on FNC/Trump talking points should know that. Your post is nothing more than a silly bit of trolling.

The sole purpose of these debates, it seems to me anyway, is finding a way to shed candidates by October 1, and firm up the field of candidates who'll make the race to Iowa and New Hampshire. The debates are really an awful way to assess candidates, and the manner in which CNN formatted this little horror show made it worse than usual in my view.

Apparently you’ve never fought someone who has zero respect for human beings or decency. That kind of dogfight is a whole other ballgame. These people have all largely been protected on their home turf and allowed forums to be aggressive without a real time counter. They’re all going to be in for a shock when it’s one on one. I’m not excited for this but I kind of get how maniacs operate and just think someone who’s more emotionally mature and can stand up firm to the bs assaults is the best shot Dems have. Everyone thinks their tough until they face a rabid animal then they get thrown off their track and make bad decisions.
