A couple of sophomores have stepped up including Sorichetti, Rawson, Chick and Martin. Of course, Kilrain, Ayers and Chauvette have built on their freshmen success.

No Iler sighting. He must be hurt.
Thanks once again for the great video work HOB!!
I know this is a tall task fraught with uncertainty, but if you had to pick a starting lineup for the Spring based on what you've seen so far in Fallball, what would it be?
Who have you been most impressed by?
Goalie: Staudt because he has the experience. He played better against NJIT. Versus Air Force, he let in a few easy ones, but his defense didn’t play especially well. I would like to see more of Webb vs. Delaware.

FO: Solid unit. Callahan starts. Didn’t see McKee. Hobot rotates in at some point.

Attack: Ayers can create his own shot, but is he a skilled feeder? Jury is out. As others have said, Chauvette has added a feeding component to his game, but entirely dependent on his left hand for shooting. Not a bad thing since he has a quick release and is deadly from distance. Melendez is moving well and his shotmaking is unpredictable. I expect a bounce back season from him.

First midfield: English is moving freely. Expect to see more playmaking from him. Collison is a known quantity—worth 25 to 30 goals a season. Bauer has looked very good. Probably a better passer than Ayers. Could see the two flipping positions within games.

Second midfield: Things get interesting here. Evans and Phillips are not enough of scoring threats to play much on this line. Crogan has earned a spot because he can blister the corner from distance as well as finish inside. Plus, Sean may be the quickest player on the team. Can beat his man on the dodge. I expect to see Hackler with Chick spelling him. I like McCleary for the third spot because he has size and athleticism to make defenders move.

Third midfield: Evans, Phillips, Gregorek, Monfort or Sorichetti would be my choices here—if they choose to run a third line.

Close defense: Smith, Deans and Kilrain. Backups would be Brown and Todaro.

SS: Hackler, Monfort, Martin, Eye and DiCicco.

The overall lineup would be very competitive.

Awesome stuff HOB.

Sounds like a lot more offensive ball movement this year. They know they don't have an angelus and need others to step up. Also sounds like what they've lost in the outside shooting in Peshko/Grimes they've added in more versatility from the midfielders.

I feel good about Collison, I have a general idea of what we'll get from Bauer, the rest of the offense I can't positively project at this time. Watching Melendez struggle to beat a shortstick at the beginning of that first video was a concern. There's no degnon/angelus to cover for his health/inconsistency issues next spring and no veteran supporting cast like Grimes/Peshko who you can count to chip in those 9/10/11/12 goals you need to get over the hump. Really need 2-3 of those young midfielders to give them some offense next spring.

Sounds like there's 3 options at faceoff which is a positive.

Poles sound like the deepest part of the roster.

Martin's brother didn't impress in his brief time on the field last year, but we know the bloodlines, and he has the benefit of experience in the program.

Gregorek may be a nascent Angelus clone. Similar skill set, size and athleticism.

Moves his feet a bit like him too. Angelus' best attribute was probably his footwork.

Gregorek played a lot of middie in high school, I'm actually a little surprised he's listed at attack—and appears to be playing there this fall—as opposed to middie. Seems like he might be an option there at some point. On tape he appears comfortable from pretty much any spot on the field.

They haven't actually posted Terry Foy's article yet, but on the IL podcast yesterday, he said two somewhat interesting things from his visit to practice: 1) Confirmed that PM is coaching the offense 2) The staff is "really excited about Tyler Eye"

Moving Deans to close is interesting since he has been so good in the middle of the field. Maybe a vote-of-confidence for Eye at LSM?

Eye is very very good from what I've seen. Would not be surprised if this is the case.
