And, Jeff Trainor.

Didn’t make the list, its doubtful people know how
great a player that guy is.
He never leaves the field, I’ve never seen him tired,
I have seen him get beat up some,

that guy probably works out in his sleep !

Lax Sports Network is covering the UMass Fairfield
game instead of Delaware Towson.

Huh ?!

Game though is on Tiger TV which is a good broadcast.

UMass was the preseason team to beat ... ranked in the top 20 for three weeks despite not playing a game due to Covid. LSN schedulers probably thought this game would attract more interest than UD-TU.

Northeast sports broadcast instead of from another region? Say it isn’t so!

Tigers put in fluke goal at end of quarter,
Brennan with a lot of saves,
4-2 Hens.

Hens made an adjustment using Mark Beida,
made a difference he’s made some plays,
9-3 Hens Q3.

Hens really haven’t had any issues with the Tigers
today,
I hate to say it because the 1st game was tremendous,

the Hens may have found another gear.

12-4 Q4.

Congrats to Delaware. They played basically a flawless game. Had just 10 turnovers, but I believe only had four through three quarters (before garbage time in the fourth). Shot perfectly. Won most of the face-offs (not that hard against Towson). Dominated defensively. Superb gameplan. Outplayed and outcoached the Tigers.

Ryan Tierney of course, the son of the coach,
from the Tierney lacrosse dynasty,
we all knew about him entering as a freshman.

But what about Charlie Kitchen.
Here is some cobbled together background.
NJ High School Sports
St. Augustine's Kitchen is boys' lacrosse player of the year
When he was a freshman, Charlie Kitchen was 5-foot-9 and a rail-thin 130 pounds. He spent that season on the St. Augustine junior varsity lacrosse team.
Kitchen, a 2016 St. Augustine Prep graduate who
helped the Hermits reach the state Non-Public A semifinals in three consecutive seasons (2014,
2015 and 2016).
St. Augustine Prep Attackman ('16)

2016 UA Lacrosse All American
2016 SJ Player of the Year
1st Team Non Public A All State
1st Team All SJ
When Kitchen’s older brother James graduated from St. Augustine Prep last year, he had a spot waiting for him on Hofstra University’s men’s lacrosse team.

Charlie, on the other hand, only had a couple of low-tier Division III offers after scoring 29 goals for the Hermits, and he knew why.

“I was getting beat up, pushed around by bigger kids,”
Career Stats
Season G A GB
2013-2014 21 6 1
2014-2015 29 7 0
2015-2016 57 22 1
Career Totals: 107 35 2
Still not as sold on Tierney as that level. 35% overall (before today) is very good on volume shooting but too many games at or below 20% to be considered a top ten type attack. Would take Kitchen, Robinson or Trainor over him. Tierney has had all the opportunities but looks at the games below:

SHU 1/13
UMass 2/10
Towson 1/10

Last two games have been 1/6 & 0/8, so in a season that’s been 11 games deep so far you have five (5) where he’s a collective 5/47. One or two games but that’s a lot of games, nearly half of those played, that were well below average.

Not saying he isn’t good just think others might be better on a consistent basis or with his type of opportunity.

Tierney’s a great player, he’ll finish either 1st or 2nd
all time in scoring in this conference.

Its been tremendous watching these star seniors for
five seasons, normally you only get four.

You’ve got to enjoy them while you’ve got them.

——————

Drexel with wins over all five CAA teams, 1st time
since 2014, guaranteed 1st winning season since 2014,
probable 2nd seed, course they also got crushed by the
Hens and UMass — but finally getting good recruits in after
flogging it mostly during that early recruiting era.

I still don’t believe anyone is up to par with the Hens,

they look like they’ve switched to another gear, like
they’ve found an additional reserve - I don’t believe we’ll
really see their ceiling until the NCAA tournament.

Doesn’t look like he’s in the mix to start at this point of his career.

They have some depth now, so yeah if you’re out, injured,
you run the risk of losing your spot, Dumas has produced
though.

Its too bad there isn’t one more at large slot.
A good, worthy CAA team won’t make the NCAAs.

With Syracuse and Navy winning, Lehigh, the Patriot
league logjam - its hard to see where one of the CAAs
slides into that last at large - but its almost always about
the AQ anyway in this league.

That time of season where if you are a Jr,often even a Soph, where if you aren’t in the mix it’s hard to crack given fresh talent coming in every year. Too and thought he would do well for you.

PL may get two but it would probably have to be some combination of Lehigh and Army unless someone else wins AQ. Don’t see an at large for anyone else including Navy.

Thought there was a small chance of the AE competing for an at large but I think VM losing and SBU losing today probably ends that. Maybe Drexel over Del final gets you two.
