I don’t really care one way or the other about Rapinoe. A coach has to decide who the best players are, and which chemistry helps them win. They lost.

Her sanctimony on the field, after a goal, is what bothered me the most. Rarely did she revel in a teammate’s success. She’s a me me me type athlete.

Carli Lloyd is probably the most revered player on that team, and so naturally was the only one with the guts to call Rapinoe a distraction,

The team will be much better without her.

Personally I prefer more innocent and exuberant, joyous athletes like Tamyra Mensah-Stock.

Without Rapinoe there would not have been all these past victories for the USA.

USA Women needs to cycle through some new players. It’s been a good run. The world is catching up as clubs abroad are putting money into women’s soccer.

Carli Lloyd is a national treasure. The Australians weren’t having any of the Americans wokeness.

Not my battle. I just don’t care enough about women’s soccer to be more invested than a few posts, but if you want to attract new fans, wokeness probably won’t do it.

If anyone can’t admit that many of our brightest fellow citizens are black, you ain’t paying attention. And I’m not talking about the woke BLM money shakedown racket so many of you publicly purport to support (but don’t), but actual super achievers whom I’d point to as being unbelievable role models.

Today’s exhibit A and my number one hero is Sydney McLaughlin. What an amazing human being. She’s infinitely more impressive than I’ll ever be in my dreamiest dream.

Love her!!! Absolutely unreservedly love her!

Ohio Court Sentences Black Woman to 18 Months in Prison the Day After Giving White Woman Probation for Same Crime

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/ohio-co ... 00949.html

The white woman committed more crimes, over a longer period of time. She stole more money than the Black woman. She had 21 more charges and cost taxpayers six times more money. She was facing 60 years in prison while the Black woman’s maximum sentence was three years. Yet the Black woman received more prison time than prosecutors wanted her to spend in jail.

... Nationwide, Black people convicted of crimes received 20 percent longer sentences than similarly situated whites who commit the same offenses, according to the U.S. Sentencing Commission.

Is the USA racist? Obviously, yes. CASE CLOSED.

The first thing you should do upon reading an article like this written by a writer like Charriot is be skeptical, VERY skeptical. I’m not going to do the work for you; do it yourself. My guess is there are significant mitigating reasons for the disparate treatment. Why? Because there always is.

What instead you should lament is a system that incarcerates either woman. The appropriate punishment is clearly restitution and probation. This is a no brainer. Your instinct should not be ‘I want both heads’. The correct instinct is ‘one judge hit it right with restitution and probation; the other judge is a product of a joke incarceration system’.

The issue is current versus past.

How does one debate this from just days ago: “The Racist ‘Theory’ That Inspired Murderers Is Now GOP Dogma”? 🤡

Ali and Rupar are currently spewing vile trash, not just previously. Their ‘reporting’ is constantly clowned because they seek attention not accuracy. Today.

Whereas the other person you’re referring to is an actual accomplished lawyer, with an historical ‘issue’ from 2014. He doesn’t toss rhetorical bombs for attention sake. He’s simply a lawyer doing good work.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong. Sometimes the truth hurts, and there isn't much to debate when faced with the truth.

If given the opportunity to do so that is precisely what I would do. However, since your Republicans heroes refuse to change the system we are stuck with selective enforcement of the unfair law. That affirms racism is a reality.

I’d agree with you on your somewhat-indirect point that Republicans can not formulate a coherent policy when it comes to violent versus non violent crime. It’s painful listening to most Republicans discuss criminal policies and incarceration. One awful byproduct of allowing the prison industrial complex to rule over too many Americans is there now exists in practically every new law a prison penalty. For every last little thing. What this does is give prosecutors complete control over the outcome of any charge. We have a nearly 100% conviction rate. Even North Korea isn’t as embarrassingly pro-government.

If you quiz most people here at Fanlax, they too are going to be sadly uninformed and often incoherent on this system. They’ll rail about blacks being incarcerated too much (true!), but then fail to note any difference between violent and non violent crimes. They’ll fervently cheer as Roger Stone is arrested by 30 heavily armed SWAT FBI agents for a non violent grand jury indictment (indictment! not even an act in progress), but not understand how winking at that gross abuse of government power directly feeds a situation like Derek Chauvin. They’ll want Tom Barrack held on no bail solitary confinement (the Geneva Convention is against American policy here) or obscene bail (again for a non violent charge), but fail to call out Antifa violence.

Until you can distinguish non violent and violent crime, until you are able to decry the inclusion of prison penalties in every federal law, you’re no more educated on this topic than a toddler.

I hope you're not including me in this group since, as you well know, no one has called for the decriminalization of drugs more than I have. Society would be so much better off if it only had enough sense to realize this.
