Yep. ...& it has turned impeachment into just another campaign tactic.
Expect impeachment the year before every Presidential election when the House is held by the opposition party.
The criminalization of politics is nearly complete. They're even publishing each others ph records.
Don't worry, McConnell won't let impeachment happen the year before a Presidential election. Or confirming a centrist Supreme Court nominee that R's initially wanted

It only took multiple actual impeachable offenses before the house even thought about bringing it up.

Ivanka knew Chris Steele—and the Trump and the Trump Organization trusted Steele and his work sufficiently to *offer him a job* early in the 2010s. God, what phonies, top to bottom. President Comrade J Trump meets with Lavrov again today in the Oval.

Fbi Chief Chris Wray has called bs on the Ukraine gambit, as well. So, to review, no Deep State coup, no 2016 Ukrainian election interference. All this time Trump’s been defending a very guilty Russia.

Now we know the FBI is shockingly incompetent, reckless and dumb even when dealing with cases at the highest level of national importance, and that if handled poorly could undermine public faith in rule of law-

And James Comey takes a bow?

What a world class schmuck.

Don’t worry. Trump won’t be removed from office and will win in another landslide. This is political suicide for the Democrats. There are no impeachable offenses. Only brain dead liberals aren’t smart enough to see that.

We'll see where that lands him. Spreading rumors about one's personal life and family would result in permanent dismissal if I were in charge of this place.

About a 90% chance the Dumpster will engage in another blatantly impeachable act the moment the senate repubs let him off the hook if not sooner. I'm fine with the dems following through with the articles of impeachment, and doubt it moves the political needle in any significant way which likely doesn't help a schmuck with a 42% or so approval rating.

George Mason in 1787 on impeachment during the Constitutional Convention - “Shall the man who has practiced corruption, and by that means procured his appointment in the first instance, be suffered to escape punishment by repeating his guilt?”

That about says it. James Madison and Edmund Randolph supported Mason on adding an impeachment clause to the Constitution and their view carried the day. Carry on.

Ben Franklin had a good point as well - "Anyone who wishes to be president should support an impeachment clause because the alternative is assassination."

Agreed, it is not likely to change anything. The most you can hope for is a handful of republicans turn from the dark side (not holding my breath). Doesn't change squat as far as the 2020 presidential election is concerned. Could effect the congressional elections. The democrats are doing the right thing, putting a stake in the ground.

If re-elected, I would bet on it. Not likely to stop at twice.

This is nothing more than a political move. Window dressing.
Democrats "put their stake in the ground," levy articles. Meanwhile Trump will be fully exonerated by the equally stubborn Republican Senate.
And surprise, surprise, nothing gets done in DC.

Franklin makes a better point. The failure to convict is likely to result in attempted assassination. We are moving to a point that goes beyond "just politics".

As Rep. Swalwell notes, nobody asks “what did Trump know and when did he know it?”

He knew everything, he directed everything, he was at the center of everything.
