Schmear is a word of Germanic origin, equivalent to 'smear' or 'spread'. In some Germanic languages, the cognate of smear itself means butter. The use and spelling of schmear or shmear in American English is a direct loanword from Yiddish, where its original usage referred to cheese. Wikipedia

“is fire” makes me uncomfortable, especially after what happened in CA on Monday.

Look at the photos in that story. I was rolling at the documents, and particularly that second signature.

Have a good weekend everyone. I’m still reeling from the Conception inferno out west.

Very excited about everything for the fall . Very classy for Coach Amplo to have Furman in this spring !

What’s the over/under that CHT  and his inner Cabal who lead the ethnic cleansing wont show up due to a commitment to attend the Croquet at St. John’s !

Hope that FONL and all the ALUMS do something special for all the Furman folks.

Nice to see playing the Spiders who have gotten better every year .

I’m loving Hopkins is back ! This is great !!

I like it.

Let’s get it on !

+1 "T".

Fully agree on Furman and Richmond, as well as having Hopkins back on the schedule - especially playing them at NMCMS.
Nice spring scrimmage line-up too vs. JAX; UNC; UDE; UPENN & G'TOWN...excellent pre-season competition.

Croquet anyone? Such intensity! :o

And the chicken croquettes too!

WOW !!! ...so much to like about that sched. Lock it in permanently.
If JHU & MD can be continued in future years, that means 1 of them at home, every early season.
to go with Loyola or Army at home every mid-season.
If weather cooperates, we could be back in the running again for leading the nation in attendance.
Great signal from Coach Amplo to bring in Furman in year #1
Lot's of fun this fall.
Split squad B vs G + NAPS vs Alums will be a chance to get eyes on everybody.
Given the sched constraints from confs, it's hard to imagine a better sched than this one.
Thank You.

+1 old salt...well said.

Based on 2019 Massey Ratings, 7 of the 13 reg season games for 2020 are vs. Top 30 teams, including 4 in Top 20 and 2 in Top 10.
Only thing missing is a game vs. a solid (and nearby) Ivy team…how about Princeton or Penn in 2021?
Even the 5 pre-season scrimmages for 2020 are strong competition for the Mids with 4 of 5 in Top 30, including 3 in Top 20 and 1 in Top 10.

Would be good to see a big rebound from the 48.3% drop (-129,041) in home game attendance from 2012-2019 (57 games @ 138,003), compared to 2004-2011 (57 games @ 267,044). At +-$20/pp for tix + concessions spend, that’s missed revenue value of +-$2.5MM , or +-$322K avg./yr. during 2012-2019…that could have really helped mitigate the $5MM NAAA OpEx Budget deficit reported by the Capital Gazette on July 13, 2018.

Will be good to see Coach Meade on the NMCMS field once again. “Way too early prediction” >>> Mids 12 – Paladins 9.
Lot's of fun this fall.
Split squad B vs G + NAPS vs Alums will be a chance to get eyes on everybody.
Rip Miller Field will be buzzing under the lights during the autumn evening twilight on Fri., Oct. 25.
“Longuyland” Navy fans will be happy to see the Mids at Hofstra the morning of Sat., Oct. 5.
Given the sched constraints from confs, it's hard to imagine a better sched than this one.
Agreed…would like to somehow see G’town back on the regular season schedule starting in 2021 if possible…even as a weeknight game.
Thank You.
Thank YOU, old salt :!:
