Nice get for florida. People forget Warehime was one of the most exciting players emerging out of UNC with that Ortega, Rose Growney class. Solid contributor her freshman season on a stacked team with McCool.

Yes…Warehime Hillman and Hall were all 2018 ..and they all played for Sky Walkers, and I think were also together at North Carroll before it closed.
Ortega, Mastroianni, Growney Trenchard were 2017s.

Players can transfer between the fall and spring semesters as well, but I’m guessing it’s probably started to quiet down as students still need to register for classes, figure out housing, etc. But I imagine the athletic department could expedite a PSA’s transfer if they really wanted to

I thought UNC would hit the transfer portal hard considering they have used it the last 2 seasons and with all of their graduations. If I was UNC I would’ve have used it because their graduations seem very similar to Maryland in 2019 and the Terps were not their normal selves the next 2 seasons.

Did not bother to count the specifics, but the eye-test says that the majority of these transfers are grad/5th year ... using the extra year granted to all active players when 2020 was cancelled. So, the activity in the portal should drop off significantly after the kids who were freshman in 2020 filter through the system. We shall see.

i never thought Levy would hit the portal hard this window. Last 2 seasons they've been really close to a ship and were looking for an extra boost to push them over the edge. They have alot of talented players who have been riding the bench due to all the returning 5th years and transfers. I think Levy wants to get some of these players established which makes perfect sense. The portal is a tool that should be used to address needs, not just bring in every player all the time
