The Albany-SU game showed up as an icon 15 minutes after it started. I thought 75% of the ESPN employees went to SU

DU-fan wrote: Sat Feb 16, 2019 4:17 pm Is it just me or it almost impossible to find lacrosse on the ESPN app? I have both Roku and AppleTV (1st Gen) devices.

There is NO lacrosse sports category. The Albany / Syracuse game doesn't show up under the ACC Conf or the ACC Network.

Of course lacrosse viewing ratings will be low if people can't even find your content.

I can watch on my laptop, but the ESPN app on Roku and Apple TV gives zero over for Lacrosse.
The WatchESPN app on my android phone has a Lacrosse category, so I use that to find the games that are on the ESPN family of channels.
Of course, Hawkeye's game listing is also helpful in pointing out where to find the games.

You guys might want to start tuning in to Cuse wlax games, she was the commentator of the Binghamton game and I'm bettin' she'll be doing some more of them. Just to listen to her, of course (she does know her business, she's good).

Hawkeye - Thanks again. At least I knew that I would eventually find the content using your page. You might need to add SU WLAX :D

This is my first season really watching online exclusive streams, and it has made me greatly appreciate how much work goes into a high quality tv production.
ESPN definitely heard the criticism last week about the Carolina cameras. This week's angles were fantastic, especially in the first quarter during face offs. I wish they went back to that camera regularly. Great improvement over last week's interstellar viewing.

People are nutz. Criticizing ND broadcast because of the high angles etc. Be grateful that you can watch a D1 lac game in a indoor football practice facility on an internet broadcast. End of story. Then you have people knocking announcers on these internet broadcasts. Some of these people are not close to professionals. They are SID staff etc. Enjoy the games & relize this is not Jim Nantz & Tony Romo on the CBS!

Yes, I agree. The primary camera angle for the ND game was... interesting... to be used as a primary camera angle, but I would take it over not being able to watch the game at all any day.

I hold ACCNE announcers to a higher standard than other school produced broadcasts, but we are generally in the same boat here. Poorly produced lacrosse is better than no lacrosse.

A decade ago, we had less than a quarter of the games available to watch than what we do now. Everyone should quit complaining about every little thing. This is a pretty good time to be a lacrosse fan.

Not getting the complaining either. If you scout, especially HIGH school, most of the videos quality that is reviewed is NOT very good.

As a note, lots of the crews on the "big time" TV games....come on. We know that TV adds 15 pounds, but lots of these Zebras look to be 50 pounds overweight. And AARP members. Any Ref under the age of 30 doing Div. I games...........

Got some good news for you, DU, Cuse gals play Coastal Carolina in the Dome tomorrow evening at 1700 hrs.
Game's on the ACCNetwork and I'd be surprised if Little Miss Aussie Gal isn't doing the game.
Her current status: Broadcast and Digital Journalism Graduate Student At The Newhouse School.
Enjoy the commentary. ;)

Boy, if there's a southern school that could come in to make an immediate splash in NCAA D1 MLAX it would be Coastal Carolina. Wow. What a dream job that would be.
Location, recruiting ease, etc.

One of the best announcers I have heard on any network is the young guy named Zealand Shannon who calls UVA wlax games. He may have just graduated but his voice and temperament make him seem about 50. He doesn't get unnecessarily excited or tend toward unnecessary superlatives. He's a minimalist in terms of talking -- doesn't feel the need to run his mouth the whole game, but does a great job of reminding the viewer of the time, score, shot clock, which team went on runs etc, all while calling the games solo. He even has bothered to understand the women's game and the rules, unlike most male announcers who are constantly comparing it to a sport they know, as if an NFL fan would want to hear an announcer constantly comparing football to some other sport. He gets players names correct in real time, even those with hard-to-pronounce names. I'm guessing he will try to move on to other markets and sports, but he's got a real talent for calling lacrosse. And, no, I'm not related -- just impressed.

she's good, but in all fairness, was mostly watching the Sunshine Conference put another independent school down.
Love to hear (mostly watch ) her and Stanwick call a mens game. Especially over the "cool crew" that is QEP

That kid is an absolute natural. It would be fantastic to hear Shannon call some men's lacrosse. I do, however, like the current duo who calls UVA games. When I learned how young he is I was very surprised. I'm guessing he's going places. He is the polar opposite of the QAC
