It still feels strange to me, all these kids switching jerseys. At all levels. And then they are "part" of that program. Like, nah, you came up bleeding different colors. Even knowing some of them had eligibility at a school without a grad program, I still feel deep down like they are a buncha turncoats. Exceptions abound, I get it. Cabrini's program ended. Not like they are choosing to go to another school on their own.

lots of kids either didn’t pay the money to get recruited, or blossomed after high school. some didn’t play in lacrosse hotbeds. then they get to college and realize they could be playing at a better level or on a better team. no problem with that. look at Mayer from York to OSU. HS ball in florida. so not on everyone’s radar. graduated during covid, so recruiting was minimal. then gets to a top level D3 and dominates. transfers to mid level D1 and seems to fit right in. no problem with this.
some kids over reached and didn’t get play time. they just want to play. so transfer to a school with a better opportunity to play. no problem with this
NCAA grants everyone a 5th year. you have graduated from your college and want to try your last year someone else. no problem with this.

Are you taking into account these guys were one of the best, if not the best on their D3 squads? The drop off in production at the D1 level is hard to ignore. The only one I would grade an A+ is Kohn.

How can you not agree with Darminio? If anything he should be an A+. 4 G/1 A & 64 GB/22 CT is a great stat line for an LSM. And if you’re going to bring in the competition argument, some of his best games were against Michigan, Duke, High Point, and Utah.

Was Darminio LSM or D-Mid? Jacksonville has him listed as Middie.

These were all top level D3 players and very true that some did not contribute much at the D1 level. Very important to note however where they were transferring to. Drexel is meh, Albany and St. Joe's are very solid and all the rest are Big10 and ACC teams. You rarely see a top D3 player transferring to the bottom 20 or 30 D1 schools because they are likely already playing on a better team. Why would anyone transfer from Tufts to Mercer to play a much lower level of lacrosse? If Brock Gonzalez had gone to Cleveland St. he would have been one of if not their best offensive players. The vast, vast majority of players from the bottom 30 D1 teams would never see the field at Penn St., Virginia, Cuse, etc.

Yup. Salisbury had a hopkins transfer, great player, but was 4th attackmen behind all D3 recruits. Think he ran 2nd line mid until a few starters went down.

With the closing of Cabrini, per IL, Tommy Vaughan is transferring to D1 Lemoyne. Good luck Tommy!

Brett Gladstone, M, Grove City to Ohio State

Ben Mayer, A, York to Ohio State

1. Jack Boyden, A/M, Tufts to Virginia

18gp/18gs; 20g/17a/56sh; 4th leading scorer
Are you taking into account these guys were one of the best, if not the best on their D3 squads? The drop off in production at the D1 level is hard to ignore. The only one I would grade an A+ is Kohn.
How can you not agree with Darminio? If anything he should be an A+. 4 G/1 A & 64 GB/22 CT is a great stat line for an LSM. And if you’re going to bring in the competition argument, some of his best games were against Michigan, Duke, High Point, and Utah.
The vast, vast majority of players from the bottom 30 D1 teams would never see the field at Penn St., Virginia, Cuse, etc.
very few bench kids on those bottom D1 teams would see the field on top D3 teams
Yup. Salisbury had a hopkins transfer, great player, but was 4th attackmen behind all D3 recruits. Think he ran 2nd line mid until a few starters went down.
You mean Wong? He started the last 8 games and scored 25 goals, and he's was only on Sophomore. Bad example.

No hate he is a good player, expecting him to have a big year in '25. He graduated HS in 2021 so technically a Junior, and look who most of his points were against. Montclair, mary wash, catholic, kean, St Joes, st marys..... He was below quite a few teammates on the depth chart. However, he came up big when they needed him after losing 2 starters. But he is not far beyond his teammates.

The vast, vast majority of players from the bottom 30 D1 teams would never see the field at Penn St., Virginia, Cuse, etc.
very few bench kids on those bottom D1 teams would see the field on top D3 teams
Neglected to mention 11 goals against CNU,Cabrini, Swathmore and W&L. All quality competition. Expect a big year next year. He did start slow but blossomed in 2nd half of the season. He, Keaton and Straub will bring back well over a 100 goals from attack next season
Yep, he will be a starter next year.
The point I was making is that he came from a perennial D1 program and was not even remotely close to being their top guy.
He went from not seeing the field in 2 years @ JH, to starting 8 games @ SU. He will be a starter for the next 2 years @ SU, probably would have been a career backup at JH.

I get what you're saying but to compare SU to JH is crazy.
