Who do you think replaces Drenner? I believe that he was a paid assistant? Will achilds go get another OC or will he take the reigns there

I was thinking about this. Hopefully it is a fresh mind. York ran a lot of 1v1 last year. Now they don’t have Mayer as a big attack to bull his way to the goal. York will need to have some kind of an offense with cuts
Would like to see someone at x that can feed cutters.

Wasn’t there another offensive unpaid assistant on the team last year.

Coach Whitcher has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Dartmouth. While happy for him and his career, this is another hole in the staff that needs to be filled.

Congrats to Matt and the York program. Have watched York play for years and enjoy their defensive style. While big for Matt, also big for York as it shows you can go there and "move up" so while there may be big shoes to fill, there is ample evidence that Child's coaching tree is ever growing. Good on him.

At least 3 Ivy coaches are former D3 - Brown got Daly/Tufts, Princeton got Madalon/Roanoke and Dartmouth got Kirwan/Tufts. Always good to seethe respect D3 guys get within coaching ranks, just more proof that the game at the D3 level really is excellent.

Huge for Whitcher, huge for York.

FWIW I believe this was telegraphed by Ryan Kennedy coming on as a 4th Assistant last year. Whitcher was poised for advancement, with his years of success in service with York, coupled with his success in the PLL and the lacrosse world connections that come with. I would imagine Kennedy spent last year shadowing / working with Whitcher. With his defensive prowess, Kennedy will be a natural fit to take the D helm, so no hole to fill IMO.

I wonder if Kennedy is the pick will he get the full time gig or will Childs hold that to offer it to an OC?

Looks like Mayer to OSU is official. Not really surprised. The rest have been pretty quiet.

Good for him. With the basic 25% scholarship, he should be paying about the same as York. This will probably be his first time in career that he isn’t on the field 100% of the time.

I haven’t heard any other rumors about any other players. But if they go D3, we probably won’t know until spring rosters come out

Happy 4th

Seeing the effects of York not having assistants this summer. I haven’t seen York listed at any of the recruiting events this summer. The last two weeks, numerous events are posting lists on social media of all the colleges attending. I keep seeing the top regular teams (D1, D2, and D3), but not seeing York listed. This would be the time to be getting 2024 kids.
Although, I did see a York play day event planned.

As for Cabrini, I can’t imagine any of this years incoming freshman will still attend Cabrini. Glad to see a long pole making the move to York.

I’ve got to be honest with you, I’ve NEVER seen York advertised on any of those things. I wouldn’t pay much mind to that. They had 4 assistants last year. 2 gone leaves 2. Life goes on.

They are out in the trail, I promise you that, Drenner was rarely out recruiting as it was not part of his job as a part time asst. I saw them at multiple events that I was at, there are just too many events for any staff to be at all of them

York grabbed another Cabrini commit. Based on IG

Looks like a right handed offensive player.

York picks up another Cabrini commit, that’s 3 now. The incoming freshmen class is now up to 21. How big is the overall roster going to be?

The third Cabrini player is from the Philly area and played club for Brotherly Love. He’s listed as a left hand attackman. Glad to hear that the 2024 class is starting to shape up. Looks like the first commit listed on insidelacrosse database is another left handed attackman.

From what I recall, most of the offensive commits this year are lefty attack man. Most will end up playing midfield.
