My dad is a Penn guy and huge Phillies fan, so I am well aware of Dick Allen. I can still recall a team picture where he is the only one wearing a batting helmet and not looking at the camera--he was angry. Think he had some demons!

He had a lot of demons and became a mean alcoholic but the Phillies fans treated him like a character with a really nice car in grand theft auto. Threw batteries at him and that’s not even close to the worst.

The additional 12 teams will be nice, but get ready to pony up donations to keep them. Rumor on track is that they plan to use Geneva High facilities... not a great recruiting pitch. And baseball will use McDonough park. But no indoor practice facility. Adding mens swimming and diving, but the pool is short and needs replacing. Volleyball has been planned for at least 5 years, if not longer.
We should replace the science labs before any more inputs on new sports. We are 100 students short in the incoming class .... again. We need to solve that problem.

Thanks for the insight. I was very surprised when the email came announcing the sports being added. In light of your statements above, even more surprised--fingers crossed!!

Especially when football assistant coaches were cut last year and our lacrosse schedule is predicated on not traveling anywhere that you can’t hitchhike back from to save travel money. Smells like a application pool enhancement move.

Saw two new 22s on IL

Tim Evnin - A, St George’s RI (is that ISL?)
https://www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiti ... commitment

Jackson Galini - D/LSM, Landon (MD-can’t find much of anything on him so far)
https://www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiti ... commitment

So year out but we have 7 listed 22 commits (Colin Rovere, Ellis Willson, Sheamus Schoefield, Michael Amuroso & Connor DiTimasso)

Here’s the incoming FR from IL which may or may not be complete, far as I can tell Firth is the only one who picked up major accolades in Hs this year as AA.

Recruits
Name Rating
Michael Bennett --
Adam Bland --
John Jude Considine --
Will Corbett --
Will Delano --
Joe Dubose --
Nolan Firth --
James Greene --
Tim Murray --
Will Plunkett --
Alex Rosa --
Jake Shaifer --
Braeden Wimer --

Gotta like that Delano (9g,2a vs Lafayette) and Wimer (4,2 vs Cherry Creek as huge underdogs) showed up big in state finals games vs other talented kids.

Nice who ahve we had from Canandaigua? Sean Regan. Dewall was a long time ago. Corona Broomfield ended up not playing.

There’s also a kid on campus for football who was a AA in colorado as a midfielder named Johnny Colombi. Don’t know if he’s trying to do both but if he was AA from a successful Cherry Creek program I’d assume he’s good enough to play.

Are any of those 22's Legacies? A couple of those last names are familiar from the 1980's.

Kevin was from Waterloo. Last player before Sean Regan was Austin Rodgers, a middie.

Does anyone have any insight into why Hobart does not get kids from Penn Yan or Victor? Too close to home??

I made a comment on a Hs board that we don’t do much in section 5 compared w 3,4&6 one time wondering why and it was taken as if I was saying section 5 is inferior but I’ve wondered the same thing. I recall MIke Manley seriously considered Bart as his dad was an assistant coach for a bit but he obviously chose Duke.

Could just be people wanting to get away.

Looks like (3) on the current roster: Imburgia (Pittsford), Hochheimer (Aquinas), O’Hara (Skaneatles by way of Salisbury School).

And O’Hara was a late add not sure he was heavily recruited or if this had to do with ending W Genny fences given how Messere wasn’t happy with the way BJ was treated.

We’ve had some good ones, Alex Caton was an excellent LSM. Emmy Poccia orig went to Bart others as well. But we seem to get more of our elite contributors out of section 3 or 6 than 5 which seems a little odd.

This is pure conjecture about O’Hara but…seems like a possible motive would be to start the “play 4 in 5 years” clock later. Would seem to make sense if that was part of his plan based on COVID/returning seniors etc.
