Did that Mount Olive v Mesa game end in a braveheart?

Just a typo by me, which is now fixed. Plus I added the OT, which laxbytes.com does not publish. (That site is the most convenient to get games as the ncaa.com site is just starting to have the men's DII games listed.

Gutsy win by UMO at one point down 9-4 and got dominated at faceoff and won the most important one in OT.

there has been some real crazy scores this year, what the heck is going on and is there no class in the sport anymore? Keep pounding teams by 20 make yourself feel good and then wonder why schools cut programs.

Some teams pull there guys and put the reserves the score is still ugly. Sometimes the team is just that bad, this has always been a controversial issue in every sport. There has been a lot of blowouts this year.

So true, it's hard to tell reserves who get into the game to not play lacrosse. They work just as hard as the starters if not harder in most cases. Sometimes walk-ons get opportunities that they normally wouldn't get. A shot clock doesn't help this situation either. No longer can you just spread out and take 3-4 minutes off the clock. What is worse for a team gettings scored on or having a team just pass the ball around for 90 seconds and throw it in the corner?

I agree I don’t believe a coach should tell his bench players to not go out and play lacrosse. You can definitely possess the ball for the full 80 but to tell young players who are gaining experience to not play and just stall does nothing for their development. In my opinion If you’re going to field a D2 team, then do it... that’s for any level to be honest. there are programs out there that you could say are a joke and it’s not fair to those programs who actually go out and recruit and build successful programs that have to play these teams and say they’re disrespecting them game or not having class. What about the program that fields 18 guys and isn’t a first or second year program (new program)? I’d say that’s just as much disrespecting the game. Put effort into building a competitive roster and building culture and 30+ goal games don’t happen. But that’s just my two cents.. who am I to say anything.

I agree on guys working hard and getting into the game late in a convincing win. You shouldn't tell them not to play or the freshman and sophomore that is trying to show they can play. However, leaving your starters in is another thing. I have kids playing and played on both ends of the spectrum. One a starter and one played on the 3rd line, but both put in the same effort and time and one on a program where when the game is in the bag - the development players play. And the other where the development players get in but for limited minutes. And you wonder why for the limited minutes. It won't change the out come of the game and some of those kids could end up being starters later in their career. Or not - but I understand both sides

Feels do not change, we have to look at the big picture, we’ve all loved the growth of the game but how are we going to feel when schools start cutting programs. Schools do not like seeing their teams beat by 20, it hurts recruiting and that’s the number most of these schools care most about. I saw a game the other day at the college level were a team had 15 guys, they got beat by 20+ Do you think their school may be rethinking a program.
What continues to grow within colleges, ESports... if you are a AD do you continue with a program that gets embarrassed week after week and does not bring in the numbers expected and spend the money on it or bring in a program that uses equipment already on campus (room and computers) has no travel and in today’s day and age can bring in big numbers?

Sometimes its okay to lose by big margins I know that might sound dumb but programs like Chowan that got beat yesterday big are usually newer programs and or have new head coaches. It definitely takes time for the pains to stop

And you might see more lopsided games this year, as teams are precluded from the travel that they're used to. If you have to stay in-conference, or within xx miles, you'll end up scheduling some games that both coaches would rather avoid.

GLVC is a good example - Lindenwood, Rockhurst, Maryville and Indy (four top 20 teams) are locked in to two games each with first year Quincy and Davenport. In normal years these spots would've been filled with travel to or from Florida and the Carolinas ... Tampa, Limestone, Mt Abbey, etc...
