Yes unfortunate loss this weekend and overall great IVY performance outside of Brown. The difference between the elite or established programs and middle of the pack is not near as widespread as some might think. Ask Ohio
state, Michigan, and others.
Despite losing to SB last year Brown may have been looking past them a bit and that would be on both the coaches and the players. There are 75 teams in D-1and only 11 of them are without a loss. Five of those undefeated teams are IVY!

Brown missed an opportunity. If they don’t bring it every game and have that Killer Instinct there will problems. Way too early; however, not to be more positive. They have the potential to return to the ILT and surprise some teams and I am 100% looking forward to how they respond vs Providence. One game at a time.

PC 3-1, has played good D with a new goalie after the excellent Tate Boyce graduated. Lost Sat by 2 to St Joe's in Philly, going 3-22 on faceoffs.
Good Q by counsellor; is Bruno making good goalies look great with their shot placement?

Bears need more off-ball movement. They are making the slide man's job easy because the Bears are standing still. Offense seems to work best when ball moves north-south, rather than east-west.

Keep an eye on Stony Brook v Rutgers for a better read on what the close loss says about Bruno. Let's go Bears!

What a bad shooting team this year. They look bad across the board, but really ugly shooting.

When did the NCAA make bounce shots illegal? I missed the press release.
What every team asks after a spirited comeback falls short: where was that effort and energy earlier?

a few too many late-close-outs on hands-free PC shooters in the 1st half....a few too many unforced turnovers....two initial saves by Goss leading to dribbles across the goal-line....PC goalie's 16 saves significant ....outstanding 5 goal come-back by Brown in the 4th qtr to tie it up...win the OT face-off but a turnover in front of the PC cage and an undisciplined slash by the Brown attackman who suffered the TO leading to the PC man-up score.....great play in the 4th qtr by the Brown face-off unit lead by Gunty to lead the 5 goal come-back.... Enchill again the most consistent and solid Brown player on the field.....Aughaven able to step-into several scoring shots...Kniffin contributed again......no Sowers or Teat or any one of 3 Yale scorers or 3 Penn scorers on the Brown roster ( not on many rosters in college lax)......Coach will surely remark on being proud of the come-back and the resilience (most overused word in coach speak this year)...will advise he didn't put the kids in position to win...will advise it never comes down to one play .....but there are those who will point to the OT period slash leading to a senior-laden PC offense score as the ultimate difference ....refreshingly the officials let the players play with only the most apparent fouls being called....so the Brown AD's dream (and intent) of a Brown appearance at Brown Stadium in the NCAAA Quarters has now been reduced to making the Ivy Tournament at Hofstra alongside the very un-Ivy Hempstead Tpke and winning that League Tournament.. heading into the season that was probably going to be the only possibility anyway...... ..tough to envision that scenario playing-out......just not enough reliable offensive firepower game to game able to be mustered by Brown....yes the shot proficiency is a problem......absent outstanding 18 save games by Goss and limiting the TO's the remaining. schedule does not seem to permit many W's ( U Va., UMass, Yale, Penn, Cornell, Harvard, Princeton)....

Congrats to Bruno on a huge win! What a game by Goss -- haven't seen a better one by a goalie in a long time (and Rode for UVA was amazing too). Huge comeback when they were down 8-2 early in the day.

Not that it came easy -- I was awfully surprised when the coaching staff sent out the FOGO who was 4 for 11 on the day instead of the freshman FOGO who was over 50%, and when UVA scored in 5 seconds and then cleanly won the next face-off I thought UVA's come-back magic was back again. But a nice defensive sequence at the end by Brown sealed it.

Great win. So many good teams in the Ivies this year.

EUREKA ! CELEBRATION !
Brown takes it to the National Champions in an astounding come-back from 6 down!...seemed intimidated for the 1st quarter but then won it on the backs of goalie Goss who played like the all-American he is and the recovered from injury 6'7" middie Gendron (who received the game ball)....Rockefeller contributed and FO Gunty out-played VA. phenom LaSalla ....a bounce or two the other way in the two OT losses and Brown is 5-0 and ranked in the top 10 with its Ivy brethren.....Class-act Lars Tifany had a genuine smile, as always, on his face in congratulating many of his former recruits at Brown on the win......Former Brown coach and alum Dominic Starsia never agreed to schedule Brown even in Charlottesville....Lars welcomed the opportunity for a home-coming at Brown in Providence in the new Lacrosse Stadium...U Va.'s goalie Rode was forced to come up with 17/18 saves but it wasn't enough against a not- to- be- denied Brown contingent that saw an opening and refused to let it be closed despite the heroics of Va.'s Moore who may be the best shooter in college lacrosse this season....next up for Va. is a trip to Boston tomorrow for some mentoring and corporate mentoring as well as, for sure, a lot of griping and second-guessing on the "U Va. Sabre lacrosse" blog...next up next weekend for Brown is Harvard - the hope is for a season-long carry-over from the emotion and competitiveness shown on the field today....Brown needs another goalie the caliber of Goss starting next season....have a good one coming in but can use another - hope this program win can convince that Goss successor to make a call to Coach Daly.....

Great win! I too would like the final minutes fo strategy explained. "Too smart by half?" Go with an upperclassman with the game on the line?
Really great tending by both, and props to Gunty and Gendron (may this be a coming out for him and not a one-time flash!)

A+ win by the bears today. No point in second guessing when things work out. Team showed excellent mettle and capability across the board.

As nice an early March day as ever at Stevenson Pincince. And a nice come back for the Bears after being down 8-2.
