The plan was for Clinton to lose and then smear Trump because he was an outsider.

Re: The Politics of National Security
She didn't need to. It was given to the media. Manafort was asked to leave the campaign shortly after the convention.
Re: The Politics of National Security
Manafort leaving the campaign was the best thing that happened to Trump. Absent that, he may have lost the election. So if you are saying Democratic opposition research is what caused Manafort to be fired – a dubious proposition at best as his own shenanigans were more than enough to get him canned - I guess Trump owes Hillary a big thank you.
Re: The Politics of National Security
It was generated by the media in Ukraine, and released there.
There is also the slight problem that Manafort actually was using falsified transactions to bring this money home to avoid paying taxes on it. That is part of what he was found guilty of. If the black ledger was wrong, then he had to have come across a large amount of foreign money some other way.
The simplest explanation here is the best one - Manafort was working for a Russian oligarch and helping a very corrupt former Ukrainian president, and the ledger was hidden because it could be quite explosive in Ukraine (why would an American be so highly involved in running political affairs for the Ukraine presidency?).
And why was Manafort working for Trump with no salary? Not quite so surprising if he in fact was also working for some Russians...

Certainly - Manafort was only worried about Manafort. Anyone that spends cash like he did, 20K on a sport coat, well over a million on suits alone. He is worried about keeping his ego fed.RedFromMI wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 6:50 pmIt was generated by the media in Ukraine, and released there.

Additionally, because connections in DC are priceless. Just ask Hunter, Chelsea, Jared, et al.

No one knows at this point....maybe he had intentions to do so but it did not happen. Mueller was unable to determine this either. Maybe he used the hacked DNC server to transmit the date, but we couldn't access it because they never turned it over. Or maybe it was actually on HRC's closet server and unfortunately it was wiped it clean.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 7:02 pmWho was Manafort sharing polling data with?youthathletics wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 6:59 pmCertainly - Manafort was only worried about Manafort. Maybe. Maybe not. That doesn't change the fact that Ukrainian govt officials worked with a DNC operative against the Trump campaign.njbill wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 6:38 pm Manafort leaving the campaign was the best thing that happened to Trump. Why did the Ukrainian govt wait to turn over the black ledger until Manafort joined the Trump campaign ?
We had a FBI Legat at the US embassy in Kyiv.

Beats me. Which is it? Was it the Ukrainians or Clinton that dropped the dime on Manafort? In either event, as I said, they did Trump a favor because he was turning into poison for the campaign.old salt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 7:47 pmMaybe. Maybe not. Anyone that spends cash like he did, 20K on a sport coat, well over a million on suits alone.
Additionally, because connections in DC are priceless. Just ask Hunter, Chelsea, Jared, et al.
This is what I recall, read about 4 paragraphs down. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... ik-polling
Let me know what Vendetta Man tells you.“The Office could not reliably determine Manafort’s purpose in sharing internal polling data with Kilimnik during the campaign period,” Mueller writes. “Because of questions about Manafort’s credibility and our limited ability to gather evidence on what happened to the polling data after it was sent to Kilimnik, the office could not assess what Kilimnik (or others he may have given it to) did with it.”

Exactly, not factual.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.
