Re: Climate Change & The Environment
The Chinese are also moving away from coal. In 2010 it supplied 80% of their electric power, by 2017 it was down to 60%. Their consumption is up a little however, due to the increase in demand for electrical power. They are currently at "peak coal" according to the Brookings Institute (conservative think tank) and it's usage is anticipated to decline in the coming years. They are also the only nation majorly committed to nuclear power for electrical generation. They are adding new nuclear generation facilities.
We have had this discussion before. You were wrong then and wrong now about China's intention for coal generated power.
Maybe Trump can show the Chinese how he saved coal here in the US, so they can do the same.

It is the parallel processing necessary to use just four cameras to simultaneously measure many hundreds of mirror alignments and adjust them in real time. Basically, four cameras equally spread outside the focal point simultaneously measure each mirror's alignment in real time, and constantly make real time alignments to each and every one of them. Re: Climate Change & The Environment
Current "AIs" are mostly a bunch of If/Then statements. Aligning four mirrors is easy peazy when off the shelf processors nowadays are doing 100 million instructions per second and are easy to parallel in the thousands.RedFromMI wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 9:37 pmIt is the parallel processing necessary to use just four cameras to simultaneously measure many hundreds of mirror alignments and adjust them in real time. Real AIs are indeed getting closer to fruition, but marketing speak has severely clouded the market so to speak.
Re: Climate Change & The Environment
That is certainly my position. I hate the term Artificial Intelligence. It is totally overused to the point of meaninglessness. As I said, it is something to put on you business plan when trying to get funding.

But, installing a device that reduces energy consumption........possibly most of it.....isn't consumer worthy? Why? I mean, it would be like installing a 99% effecient HHO system.....which exists???? THIS is my point.
Remember the information about wood stoves and how the EPA, once again attacking the poor, made illegal certain wood stoves. Does the EPA have it's own bullet supply like other alphabet departments ?

I've moved on to EPA/ wood stoves......it's winter. What do you use to keep warm in Fairfield county? Oil, NG, C3H8, geo, electric, ????
I bring this up b/c it is a perfect example of how laws HURT the poor.......in the guise of helping the planet.
If the EPA , and the rich oligarchs, really cared, they would have given TARP funds to the 12 million wood stove burners/polluters.
Still no answer on what you heat with.

If climate change and global warming was real and caused by humans, why did Obama buy a mansion worth millions on Martha’s Vineyard? I thought he was concerned about sea levels rising? Proving once again Dems only care about tactics to redistribute wealth. That’s all this movement is. What a bunch of BS. Democrats exposed again for their lies and deceit of the American people.
