Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

That movie had a yuge cult following back in the 70s/80s in NYC. IIRC, watched it at the old Waverly Theater on West 3th Street in the Village:
The old theater is under new management with a more Bohemian flair to it.

Re: movies worth mentioning
First saw it when I was 12 (1990) w my sister and brother in law at a formerly popular theater on Haight St near GG park called the Red Vic (http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/6979) which closed a few years back. They lived around the corner more or less on frederick St across from keysar stadium at the time. Only movie to ever extract a tear out of me. Of course had to go see the different places they filmed scenes. Even have been to Musee Mechanique a few times when it was at the cliff house before it got moved and just up from that area where they pretend to kill Maude to avoid military service.

Another superb sci-fi flic:

So many good things I can say about that flic - how it inspired and influenced Star Trek, the awesome scenery, the tech within it, and, of course, utterly beautiful Anne Francis.

Wife and I watched film last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for recommendation.

In its time, the movie was not all that popular and did not generate much ticket sales. However, in recent years folks have come to realize that it is a genuine movie gem.

Re: movies worth mentioning
I'm torn between the top ten films and the worth mentioning threads. Border was very thought provoking and I think it shares something with Melancholia in an interesting way.

Speaking of Scandinavian flicks, I've seen some ads for After the Wedding starring Michelle Williams. I know there are some Mads Mikkelsen fans on here, so do yourselves a favor and check out the original (probably 15 years old at this point) starring Mads in the role Williams plays (at least that's how it appears in the trailer). Rolf Lassgard is tremendous in the original as well.

I wasn't sure what movie that was and then I saw the trailer. It looks good. I will put it on my list. I have Parasite and 1917 on my list.
