Try flying at 1000 feet over an airport with commercial traffic...and ignoring ATC. Also, it ain't private industry who steps in after an air crash to investigate, and then after actually figuring out what went wrong makes sure if changes in either craft or personnel are needed they happen.
I am guessing that you are not a pilot; if you are, my apologies, but by your post I have to assume you aren't. There is something called Class G airspace which is completely uncontrolled airspace...ie: no control by anyone other than your eyes and common sense; it doesn't mean it is unregulated, but effectively it is. I have flown in Class G airspace under the 4L approach to JFK.
That was not my point however. My point is that aviation software is making controllers redundant and unnecessary, not to mention making all of us safer by removing humans and human error.
