...why don't midfielders go earlier in the draft? I drafted three attackmen to start the draft just like (almost) everyone else, but I feel like that's like drafting quarterbacks at the beginning of a fantasy football draft. Just the fact that their position scores the most points doesn't necessarily make them the best picks. I'm just curious to hear everyone's thoughts on that phenomenon. Personally, I think it's just more fun to draft attacks

I think in any fantasy sport, people follow each other. Clearly the scoring system rewards Attack players with the most points. I suspect a team with 3-4 stud Attack players with solid midis wins most weeks. If people start drafting all the midis it will influence other people to either grab a middle midi or keep going for high scoring attackman.

I think it's as simple as the League Leading Scorers are Attackmen. There've been years where a D is one of the League's Leading Scorers (Cornell over a decade ago, i think) and, if coaches knew this was going to be the case, they would've grabbed Cornell's D before an attackman.
