My point in posting much of what I do from Social Media, is to bring some of you into the fray of what the majority of voters are seeing day in, and day out. As noted by most on here, you all dabble very little on social media, that same social media that the smart phone generation reads constantly is what gets planted in their minds. Their comprehension level is often 140 characters or less, now Twitter will allow up to 280...that may actually make it worse if the headlines are all they are reading.
Remember, in this era, the narrative sells, and gains traction only when trending via analytics on social media platforms and clicks on webpages. I am at the age of being stuck in the middle. I grew up on reading the remnants of my fathers Washington Post and Washington Star, then got wise to social media to monitor my kids and those I coached...I got sucked in. I consider myself a thinker, and struggle to believe anything I read in media, always thinking "what are they distracting me from", a natural inquisitiveness that honestly drives me nuts....and my family.

But I do read his posts and engage with him. I certainly don’t consider him to be an ‘enemy ‘.
The only other poster I did that with is a poster who is reliably spewing hate and bigotry. I prefer not to open a thread to that level of anger and ignorance. I still can open those posts or see them in others’ response to him, but I prefer not to feed the troll.
I don’t find your posts to be something I’d prefer to ignore, but I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t resort to personal insults. I’ll give you the same respect.
I honestly don't even think you realize that YOU show disrespect first and very often.

Fair point, ABV, though I'd hope that "disrespect" for "someone's opinions" is distinct from disrespect of the person with those opinions. I intend to show 'respect for the person' by actually engaging, hopefully thoughtfully and constructively, with their posts. There's only one poster who I avoid due to actual disgust at their behavior, not just their opinions.ABV 8.3% wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 1:08 pmShow respect by insulting someones opinions with comments like whine with that cheez. "whine with that cheese" is indeed a sharp retort, intended to catch that person's attention, putting in sharp light how they are expressing complaint in a 'whining' fashion with little actual basis. But it's definitely sharp and may sting more than I actually intend.
Now if I was to call that person a "snowflake" when they "whine" that would certainly be a 'personal insult'. None of this is fully beyond the pale on FanLax (though we're trying to not attack personally), but I'd prefer to engage as much as I can muster without resorting to harsh personal insults.
However, I take your point.

Stupid woman: bashed electoral college while driving through middle of the country. She better watch it. If she actually believed her blabbering BS about climate change, why does she live in NYC? I thought it is going to be under water? Same for Obama. If he actually believed in climate change, why’d he buy a huge estate on Martha’s Vineyard?

Ms. Pressley and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat, urged supporters on social media to contribute to a legal-defense fund for activists arrested at the parade. The FundRazr campaign raised nearly $25,000 before closing.

Re: AOC
well, he's sorta correct, IF he's referring to a pure democracy.
since we don't exactly have a pure democracy, it's nonsense.
i didnt expect him to get the nuance. it's clear he doesnt understand the constitution.
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.

I try not to read anything about AOC. Just like her predecessor. Not sure who decided she has a national profile. Probably same people that decided Yankee - Red Sox is a rivalry the rest of the country should care about.runrussellrun wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 12:33 pmThat's nice....Phuk Cafe?
