SharpieMadness is indeed hilarious. It has taken on a life of it's own.
The MostlySillyMedia is obsessed with it.
A catastrophic hurricane has become a set up line for the latest TDS obsession.
Another Trump shiny object diversion. Mission accomplished.
Anything to avoid covering the Russiagate investigation implosion.
Your hero o d is the one who keeps bring this topic up. Never has a president so desperately wanted to be right about a hurricane hitting a specific region of their country.

Just because he committed adultery by paying to have sex with a porn star named Stormy, doesn't make him a meteorologist!

Will you at least admit that o d took his sharpie and drew on the NOAA map?
Maybe Trump was watching CNN and with Don Lemon and world renowned weather guy Derek Van Dam. Turn up sound: https://www.instagram.com/p/B2FeP75nADw/  Silly CNN
Look at where the storm is located on the map in that video, Youth. This had to be aired 3 days before it even approached Barbados.

Trump got briefed on Thursday, when there was still a (very) outside chance that Dorian would go over FL and die out in the Gulf (thus AL would get some gusty rain showers).

Then he went to golf and promised to keep track of the storm as justification for not going to Poland where his welcome was not gonna be warm after he tweeted congratulations to the Polish people for having gotten invaded by Nazis (some of them, probably, very fine people) 80 years ago. Oops.

Apparently he either ignored or never attended briefings, so when the storm stalled out over Barbados and the track got confirmed as 'up the coast just offshore' he wasn't engaged.

His Sunday tweet betrayed a 4 day old data threshold. The guy is hard to keep on point, I guess......
But the real issue isn't the initial mistake, which was corrected immediately by NOAA, so just an oops, but rather the doubling down, tripling down, quadrupling down, falsifying data/maps, and forcing subordinates to lie for him. It would been SO Easy to just say "whoops, I was just remembering that they were initially at risk, glad to see they're not."

But this jerk couldn't move on and forces others to lie for him.

Trump Planned to Meet with Taliban

Post by DocBarrister »

Trump was going to personally meet with Taliban leaders on September 9, 2019, on American soil, just two days before the 9/11 anniversary. Obviously, he was hoping for a photo op with Taliban leaders on 9/11 after concluding some sort of peace deal. Trump cancelled the meeting after the Taliban killed an American soldier in Afghanistan because ... well ... that’s what the Taliban do ... kill Americans, by the thousands.

https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2019/0 ... istan.html

Negotiating peace with the Taliban is one thing, but inviting them for a photo op with the President of the United States on American soil just two days before 9/11? That is beyond repugnant.

Anyone who is ok with any of this should, respectfully, leave the country and shut the door behind them.

Doc,
You obviously have never been shot at. It is fun. Give it a whirl then let us know about shutting that door. I am sure you or your kids did combat duty and took some pops, ask them how it felt. Sorry, your kids probably went to a 50,000/year prep school.

In combat and in business if you want to be nice, play nice.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

The Trump Administrations has achieved more in the first 2 1/2 years of its existence than perhaps any administration in the history of our Country. We get ZERO media credit for what we have done, and are doing, but the people know, and that’s all that is important!

Imagine the hue and cry if Obama had done this. Republicans in Congress are simply accessories after the fact to the fraud going on, and the kleptocracy that is the Trump White House. I cannot believe we are buying beers for Eric and D, Jr. -- at their own resorts.

Yup. Lincoln and Washington have nothing on the Very Stable Genius.

And FDR's first term was a complete joke -- passed the New Deal, and established the WPA, the CCC, the FDIC, the SEC, the FCC, the NLRB, and Social Security.

That's nothing as compared to telling 12,000 lies, watching unlimited cable TV and working your thumbs overtime to slime Bette Midler.

Time to get out the Sharpie and add him to Mt. Rushmore!

Come on, LandM, are you REALLY saying you are cool with Trump wanting a photo op with the Taliban at Camp David...on Sept 11 ?!?!?

Come on.

On the tone of your response, I think you've stumbled, perhaps inadvertently, into the sort of posturing by those on the board who think their military service makes them the only ones who understand DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY.

Here's a clue: others do as well.

I have no idea about Doc's service or that of his family. (I do know about Trump and his family, though.)

But here's something to think about:

Lots of folks knew people who died that day, some had close friends and family.
Some know first responders who have since died.

Trump profited from Pence trip to Doonbeg.

I’ve often wondered what Pence did. Now I know why he was Manafort’s pick. Talent recognizes talent. According to data collected by CREW, Pence has made over 20 visits to Trump properties since January 2017. So has Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has made 16 visits. Systemic grifters in our highest offices. Barr won’t stop the flow of American tax dollars into Trump’s pocket. He’s good for 30 k of his own dough. Mitch? Please, b....

I wonder if it is in the best interest to stay at a Trump facility?....maybe those facilities are already under heightened security and surveillance? Therefore there are less moving pieces during movement orders? Just spit-balling thoughts.

Worked at the Four Seasons in Wash DC through college. All high end hotels in major cities are designed to handle security and VIPs. We had heave Secret Service and other security details through the place on dozens of occasions.

You always knew, for example, that King Hussein was arriving in town, because out came the bomb dogs. I knew that my job was serious when they trained us on answering the phone: they made the point that it wasn't a question of deflecting crafty National Enquirer reporters, but rather telling someone a VIP was in house could lead to their death, and everyone on staff at the time. Rude awakening for a kid my age.
