Cornell's great middie Robert Henrickson was on Urso like flypaper, reason he had to dish.

My recollection on the 16th goal is that Urso had the ball, Eamon & Mike mugged him, got the ball, took it down to the Maryland goal & Mike scored from Eamon's assist.

4:16..a btb pass? Looks like a lefty pass to me.
Anyone recognize that photographer on the track?

:D Actually DMac, I think that could be me at the 2:50 mark snagging the OOBs Terp pass. The 500 mm Canon lens was white and large, a foot and half long. It looks as though I had it slung over my shoulder and was shooting with a reg 35-50mmm lens at that point.

My recollection was he played off him when play started. Maybe memory fails. With 6 seconds left it should only take one solid body check to kill the game. Either way Urso delivered and it was an instant classic

You have to give the guy space on a restart. I just watched the poor-quality video.

Check out 10:36 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIZaWDV1H3g
Hondo was on him as tight as can be. First slide came a little too early with late second slide, probably because he didn't think the first slide was needed. Easy to second guess 43 years later. Doesn't matter now anymore.

At 8:50, not exactly "btb" but as close as you'll find in this game. What a gorgeous pass by French.

Mackesey put on a clinic!

I assume you meant that the 28 was a tournament record?

I think Dan Mackesey was the greatest all-time goalie. He started 29 games and won them all. He was 1st team all-America goalie twice and received the Kelly award twice. But I want to also note that Paul Schimoler, who sadly passed away in 2013, gives Dan a strong run for his money. Paul was Ivy Rookie of the Year as a freshman and Ivy Player of the Year as a senior. He was twice 1st team All-Ivy and a 4 time All-American, twice honorable mention once 3rd team and once 2nd team the year he was the best but QK got the 1st team recognition. In 1988, he set the all-time NCAA tourney record for saves (85!). His save percentage was .640! He also was goalie on 2 world champion USA teams (1990 and 1994). Finally, long overdue, in October, Paul will be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Rest in peace Schmoles!

I'm a great admirer of Dan's play; I was a senior in HS in '76 and he played the sort of technically sound, 'big-game' style to which I aspired. I wouldn't go so far as 'greatest all-time' though certainly on my very short list. (hard to argue with my contemporary Federico who won 3 championships, 3x 1st Team, 3X Kelly Award, but others might argue for Quinn or Bacigalupo, or others all incredibly accomplished as well) Paul, RIP, was a wonderful tender as well. Cornell has produced many fabulous tenders over the years!

Looks like Teat is having another good summer and is adjusting to MSL:
Jeff Teat followed in the footsteps of fellow first-year lefty stars Gary Gait (1989) and Cody Jamieson (2009) in leading MSL in scoring as a frosh. Teat should also match that pair's feat of being named rookie of the year and MVP in the same season, as well.
Hope that translates onto the field in the spring!

Very complete player-- scores, assists, rides, etc. He and Michael Long have been an excellent pair.

Donville is tearing it up in the Jr As.
I’d have to label his team the Minto cup favorites.
