The second of two; this one is really interesting, particularly the contrasts among the Times's writers/pundits:

His schtick is old and will not get him a single new vote....he was able to bully HRC - will not be tolerated this time around. He won't stalk anyone on the debate stage and he will be on his heels answering for his actual record.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 11:18 pmToo pugilistic. Anyone who thinks she (or anyone) can spar with a Trump is delusional. It’s like utilizing old school rules of engagement against guerillas with zero respect or value for human life.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 1:53 pmThey're "bright enough" (see Pelosi and the lead Biden still has), but the energy, both emotional and intellectual, is with the most progressive ideas, So Warren plus Bernie have the largest overall share of support right now.
This period is really about sorting through those ideas, and the candidates who espouse them in various versions. When it comes time to pull the lever though, the question will be whether Dem voters prioritize voting for the most extreme versions/candidates or whether they prioritize beating Trump.
Looks to me like Harris might be the candidate who could thread the needle, but it's still super early.
Mayor Pete (or Andrew yang) seem like the best in the middle but he won’t win.
Having energy and momentum is cool and all,but if it’s not harnessed properly and to optimize its benefits then it’s just underused/I utilized capacity that carries deprecaible value at light speed.
Tweeting and lying wont win it this time....hopefully.

It's a primary; it's early; there isn't a "strategy;" everyone runs to the center eventually. Even a novice stuck on FNC/Trump talking points should know that. Your post is nothing more than a silly bit of trolling.6ftstick wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 9:43 amYou're welcome. The sole purpose of these debates, it seems to me anyway, is finding a way to shed candidates by October 1, and firm up the field of candidates who'll make the race to Iowa and New Hampshire. The debates are really an awful way to assess candidates, and the manner in which CNN formatted this little horror show made it worse than usual in my view.

Here's an article that I think fairly summarizes where the candidates are on the so-called issues of the day.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... 216097f607
"The fault line that was exposed between left and center now fully defines the Democratic nomination contest and will continue to do so as the candidates move through the summer and fall and head toward the primaries and caucuses early next year. It ultimately will be up to Democratic voters to resolve the differences, but the choices have become clearer and will now become harder to paper over.
The targets Tuesday were two of the most liberal and leading candidates in the field, Sens. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (Vt.), who were accused of embracing “free-everything . . . fairy tale” policies and making “impossible promises” that could compromise the party’s chances of winning back voters they lost in 2016 — a loss that cost them the White House.
Warren and Sanders more than stood their ground during two spirited hours of sharp and passionate exchanges. At one point, a frustrated Warren shot back to one of her principal antagonists, former congressman John Delaney (Md.), “I don’t understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really can’t do and shouldn’t fight for. . . . I’m ready to get in this fight. I’m ready to win this fight.”
This is a primary in its earliest stages; nothing has been decided. But none of the candidates engaged in the actions of a silly 12-year old whose daddy sends a limo to pick him up after school.
There is a conversation going on in the Democratic Party, that much is pretty certain. But where it will land in a general election with a Presidential and Vice Presidential nominee, I don't think anyone can now say -- except folks like you who prefer to assign a fixed label on all Democrats, as you have been instructed by FNC and the President and the other members of the right wing punditocracy that you visit.

Apparently you’ve never fought someone who has zero respect for human beings or decency. That kind of dogfight is a whole other ballgame. These people have all largely been protected on their home turf and allowed forums to be aggressive without a real time counter. They’re all going to be in for a shock when it’s one on one. I’m not excited for this but I kind of get how maniacs operate and just think someone who’s more emotionally mature and can stand up firm to the bs assaults is the best shot Dems have. Everyone thinks their tough until they face a rabid animal then they get thrown off their track and make bad decisions. I don’t see ranting and taking tough the way Kamala does translating in such a low down and dirty fight.Trinity wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 6:50 am Harris will depants Trump and mock him mercilessly. University of Maryland Hospital ring a bell anywhere? Who do you think owns and operates that? Elon Musk?
The government. The government does. And neither you nor any of your buddies who don't understand how a dictionary work cares.
And that's just one State. Know how many locations UMd Hospital System has? 150. 150 socialist locations.
And you don't care. Just stop with the socialism thing. It's ridiculous.
