What's the sexual assault rate of citizens and non-illegals vs. illegals? Plenty of US citizens (and plenty in positions of power) have been doing that for decades.Cooter wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:50 am Illegal Immigrants Drive Child Sex Crime Charges in North Carolina

Republicans have been in charge of both branches of the NC legislature for the past 9 years and also had the governorship for four of those years.
Republicans had control of all three branches of the Federal government for two years and didn't address the problem in any meaningful way. Take your sanctimonious blame game somewhere else.

Umm, not sure what you're talking about. Keep your eye on the ball - I asked what the assault rate was for US Citizens, legal immigrants and illegal aliens. We already know that immigrants commit crimes at the same rate or lower than natural born US citizens.

As I'm not a regular Epoch Times reader, but had a vague recollection that they spread a lot of right wing conspiracy BS, I looked them up on Google to see if my recollection was correct.
Yup, and worse.
A bit about them:
The Epoch Times is a multi-language newspaper[2] headquartered in New York City. The company was founded in 2000 by John Tang and a group of Chinese Americans associated with the Falun Gong spiritual movement.[3] The newspaper covers general interest topics with a focus on news about China and human rights issues there. It draws from a network of sources inside China, as well as Chinese expatriates living in the West.[4][5][6][7] It has been criticised by mainstream news outlets for its favorable coverage of right-wing politicians in the West, including Donald Trump,[8][9][10] and of far-right groups in Germany.[11][12]
Trump administration[edit]
According to BuzzFeed News, The Epoch Times is known as "one of the staunchest defenders of Donald Trump's presidency."[59]
In April 2018, The Epoch Times publisher Stephen Gregory and editor-in-chief Jasper Fakkert reported a third-hand claim that Donald Trump reads The Epoch Times every day and "it's the one newspaper that he believes to be a truthful and correct paper."[78][79]
In September 2018, The Epoch Times photographer Samira Bouaou broke White House protocol and handed Trump a folder during an official event.[80]
In October 2018, Fakkert, the editor-in-chief, wrote in a letter to readers: "We see the Trump administration's efforts to change socialist policies in America, as well as set policies to counter infiltration and subversion by China, as remarkable reversals from past policies, and sincere efforts that, if fully realized, will benefit America and the world as a whole."[81][9]
The Epoch Times was one of the top five U.S. political media advertisers on Facebook in April 2019, spending more than $100,000 to report political videos and commentary, according to research by the liberal political firm Acronym.[82][83] The ad expenditures, through a Facebook account called "Coverage of the Trump Presidency by The Epoch Times", exceeded those of every politician except Trump himself and Democrat Joe Biden.[82] In May 2019 journalist Judd Legum wrote that it was running "hundreds of Facebook ads (some of which are still active) boosting Donald Trump and floating conspiracy theories about Joe Biden".[82][84].
As of July 2019 they advertise on YouTube, promoting subscriptions to their paper based on their reporting and promotion of the Spygate conspiracy theory and other "Real News That Other Media Don't Report".[85]
So, I looked at some of their front page reporting and found an amazing amount of right wing screeds, shaping theories into a seemingly legit 'story', ala this one. When you read it, you see that the 'story' doesn't cite actual data, but rather just the claims of an anti- immigration right wing activist that he has access to such data, sorta, and this is what he claims it says...uhh huh.
All the actual government data and studies thereon have consistently demonstrated same or lower crime rates, across the board, for immigrants versus native-born Americans. R, D, doesn't matter, same results.
Yeah, what some right-wing activist says is "news"...and this is the one newspaper Trump believes is accurate...

I haven't read your post closely, it's too boring.
It seems that you are saying that the Epoch Times is biased to the right. It is fair to note that the article apparently is based on some data from North Carolina.
I think that a liberal calling "bias" is sort of funny, considering the left-wing biased of the media in general like the Washington Post, NY Times, Google, ...
By the way do you happen to be a member of antifa?

Nope. There's a whooooole world of people and media sources called "the center".
Just because something or someone is to the left of you, doesn't mean that they are left wing. What you are pointing at is the center.

Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Oh, right. I forgot. There's only left and right, and not one single American in the center.
And those massive corporations you mentioned are wild eyed libs trying to burn the establishment down. They are intentionally trying to NOT take money from the 3/4ths of the country that aren't libs....in order to cater to the much smaller far left.
Makes sense. I think you're correct. It's not possible that you are simply one step to the right of this media on some issues, and from your perspective, they're the left.

Cooter, I'm not a fan of UMD lax either, but nor am I a 'hater'. Lots of friends who played at UMD, and kids I've coached, and in general I admire what I see from them and from Tillman. But in your eyes, I suppose that makes me an 'enemy'???Cooter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 11:44 amSorry, no.
I'm a lifelong Republican, conservative leaning moderate in the Mac Mathias, Jack Kemp, Ronald Reagan, HW Bush, W's 'compassionate conservatism' and 'Islam is not the enemy', McCain, Romney wing. Never have voted for a Dem for President, having not missed a vote since my first cast in 1980. A little more libertarian than some of those fellows on social issues (or at least comparing 2019 to their stances in the 80's, 90's - they may well have been right with me if 62 and living today), but otherwise a fiscal conservative, international defense minded GOP voter historically.
But apparently that makes me 'left wing' and a 'liberal' in your eyes?
I merely quoted from wikipedia about Epoch Times (which is now italicized to help you see the quote better), and I took a look at their site and the stories there. A lot of right wing propaganda, not 'conservative' in any traditional sense, nor remotely rigorous in their 'journalism'.
And I bothered to actually read the article.
Have you? Or did you just buy into the headline and spin?
Maybe it was too long for your attention span?
It's not remotely credible, for the reasons I shared.

Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
From the perspective of partisans-----yes. Agree 100%. The media is paid to divide us, because that's what sells. "Look at what those stupid liberals are doing today" should be the title of most right wing programs. It's certainly what MSNBC's Maddow does.
Meanwhile us centrists think that partisanship in and of itself is the problem, not actual policies.

It is a time thing. times vs. importance.
- That sounds like quite a lot.In North Carolina, during the past 18 months, more than 331 illegal aliens have been charged with 1,172 child rapes and child sexual assaults, according to data collected by an independent researcher.
James Johnson, who tracks the data on his website NCFIRE.info (North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement), says he is only able to gather data from 30 of the state’s 100 counties, which means it’s likely the statewide count is significantly higher.
“The ones that I cannot confirm as being illegal aliens, I do not put in the reports. So, our reports are obviously on the low side every month because we can’t get around to every county, every arrest report, and we can’t verify every one that we come across.”
The only thing I see to be critical of is does an arrest = it happened. He said that in the last six years, he has only had to pull three reports off the site due to receiving incorrect information from the arresting agency.
