While delusional right wingers condemned AOC for equating Trump's internment centers with concentration camps, American Jewish patriots agree with her:

'Never Again Means Close the Camps!': Hundreds of Jewish Activists Surround ICE Office to Protest Trump Detention Centers
"We have a responsibility as a people whose history included these kinds of atrocities to identify the signs and prevent them from happening."

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2019/ ... ce-protest

Hundreds of Jewish activists and allies took to the streets in Chicago and surrounded a local ICE office on Monday to demand the closure of President Donald Trump's detention camps, where immigrants have been forced to endure inhumane conditions and abuse from Border Patrol guards.

"Never again means close the camps!" demonstrators chanted as they marched down the streets of Chicago ..."

No surprise that the controlled right wing media ignores this truth.
It has been proven a hundred times that the surest way to the heart of any man, black or white, honest or dishonest, is through justice and fairness.

This is a sensitive issue in the sense that the Jewish community recognizes they are concentration camps “never again” resonates. It’s delusional to pretend they aren’t.

While in this range Nazis are not just the people who ran the camps they are the members of the party and the civilians who knew but acted as if they didn’t. The enablers without whom it never happens

CAT FIGHT!!!!

It didn't take long for the race card to be played. I wonder when was the last time, if ever, Nancy got accused of being racist:

Were there more than most 4ths??

I’ve been to 4ths on the Mall and it’s a zoo, big crowd.

But it appears this was just the norm. Kinda silly to claim otherwise.

This actually does appear to be an over step.

But this also goes to show that Dem leadership is willing to stand in opposition to the most strident left.

The freshmen are making waves, and undoubtedly will move the needle, but the Party is not with them.

So, right leaning folks, how would we feel about an AOC POTUS who defied the Supreme Court and ruled be Executive Action???

You have got to be kidding me. The extreme FLP socialist wing is in the process of dragging the entire kit-n- kaboodle of the democrat party into extreme far left socialist land and the entire process is sailing right over your noggin. You think Nancy is standing up to AOC? Nancy is getting her clock cleaned and looking like a fool in the process.

Not to get into whataboutism, but in response to hypothetical whataboutism - didn't Obama write the playbook on executive orders as a way to govern?

He only shot a fellow Republican... I don't think that counts as actually shooting a person if I understand how some folks here view Republicans.

She was elected with 27,000 votes
She has 4 million twitter followers
Her district as Polosi said could be won by a glass of water with a D sticky note attached
For the love of God why the attention.
Social media made her a star just like the guy sitting in the left seat. When will we learn?

Well, you have every right to believe what you hear on Fox, but I'd suggest that what this reveals is that the Dems aren't monolithic and indeed most are center-left, not far left. But there's indeed a lot of energy on the young, far left...where the demographics of the future lie.

I worry about authoritarianism for exactly this reason...the rise of a far-left authoritarian could well occur in reaction to the right wing period.

The portion specific to Trump's speech was filled only with those his Campaign and RNC promoted free tickets to. There was very little attendance incremental to who was already coming to the Mall for the 4th. That's what was 'lightly attended'.

Yes, and the GOP was outraged. I think that was legit critique of Obama, that he was over using his Executive powers...frustration aside, it's best to do most things legislatively.

The distinction that I think is important, though, is that had Trump done the Executive Order he was promising, in direct defiance of the Supreme Court immediately preceding ruling, that would be way beyond any of Obama's actions.

Obama did do an Executive Action knowing that it could well be challenged and overturned by the Supreme Court, indeed likely so. I thought that was a bad precedent. But at least it wasn't in defiance of an existing Supreme Court ruling.

Someone got to Trump and explained that he was creating a Constitutional crisis that would turn the Court fully against him and lead to his impeachment and give grounds for his conviction by the Senate. GOP Senators would have to be horrified at the notion that a Dem POTUS could defy Congress and the Supreme Court and simply rule by Executive Order.
