Trump canceled the strip club golf outing at his Miami hotel. Call it the Epstein Effect.

You think he should be able to use his hotel this way? Government property he shouldn’t even be able lease because he’s a public employee? The Saudis pour money into his pocket this way.

I do not claim to know all the answers. His contract was signed long before he was a public official.

A “win” only on the technical aspect of whether the MD and DC AGs have standing in an emoluments case. Court says no. The argument for yes was a stretch.youthathletics wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 8:09 pmTrue, but a win nonetheless.Brooklyn wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 7:38 pmUS Appeals Court knows Big Brother is watchingyouthathletics wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 7:31 pm US appeals court sides with Trump in lawsuit involving hotel
Congress likely does have standing.
But to be clear, the crime is one of the few mentioned in the Constitution along with treason. The Founders thought it was a very big deal.
Apparently, Trumpists don’t think so.

So be crystal clear and help us all out, what should Trump do? Please be specific because for some reason the state of Md and DC couldn't do it before the court....but certainly Md and DC would benefit from your legal advice. What more does he need to do. In 2017 he is still CEO of the Trump Organazaion but passed all management decision to his sons. he also put his assets in a blind trust (to my knowledge). To make matters worse for those filing suit, they also limited the case to just the DC Trump Hotel. Moreover, GSA has said the lease contract is valid, so maybe congress needs to step in sue GSA?
Again, please be specific on what Trump should do with his business and how Md and DC screwed up their filing?

Re: Orange Duce
On MD and DC, they didn't" screw up their filing". They simply didn't have standing to sue. Their argument was that they did have standing was based upon the businesses in their areas that were unfairly competed with, ie hotels in the region which have lost business to the Trump DC property due to the desire by various businesses and countries to curry favor with the President. It was a novel argument and failed. But only as to standing. Not on the emoluments question.youthathletics wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 8:17 amSo be crystal clear and help us all out, what should Trump do? Fair question on what Trump should have done, should do today.
But not actually all that difficult to answer.
#1, disinvest in all properties and other businesses for which Trump org receives fees or otherwise profits and which are open to those who could wish to curry favor. Go to cash, and put that cash in a truly blind trust with investments in securities unknown to any Trump family, much less POTUS.
#2 same for Kushner. All the more egregious that he plays an active governmental role. Go to cash, truly blind trust.
No, Trump did not do the blind trust he promised. He just transferred day to day control, not even ownership, of his various properties. There's nothing 'blind' about it. He's eminently aware of who is spending money at those properties, with those profits going into his pocket and that of his family. Heck, he even directs massive government spending to his own properties, profiting thereby.
This is plain and simple ethics 101.
Now, that disinvestment would have certainly taken some months to achieve in an orderly fashion. Might have even taken a full year. But instead Trump chose to thumb his nose at America, just as he did with the tax returns he promised so many times.

Thankfully the citizenship question is going back on the Census. President Trump putting Americans first, unlike Democrats who put illegal aliens first.
I bet you 90% of Democrats are under the impression that the citizenship question was never a part of the census. They have no idea that it was on there until Obama took it off. Just another example of how their media fails them and deceives them, and uses them. Useful idiots

Calling someone stupid after posting the thread: “why do we need a census?” Lol. You’re pathetic.
Trump puts Americans first. Democrats put illegal aliens first. Your ignorance is really pathetic. You do know Obama removed the citizenship question from the census? Why aren’t you questioning that?
Btw the Dow just passed 27,000 for the first time ever! Surely you think that’s Obama’s doing! And I guarantee you think the USWNST deserves equal pay to men even though the men bring in more revenue. Like I said, useful idiots you Dems are.

Were you here posting when Obama put kids in cages ?
Were you posting here when Obama set race relations back 50 years?
Were you posting here when Obama called ISIS a “JV” Team?
Were you posting here when Obama and Hillary let 4 Americans die in Benghazi?
Shall I go on?
Obama did nothing for the stock market and economy. Trump admin pretty much reversed everything he did and that’s why we are seeing an economy like none other. Nice try though.
