No. Immigration issues need the funding that the Lankford bill would have allocated, but spending to support communities straining with immigration is an appropriate use of funds.
FEMA is Not allocating or spending less on natural disaster relief than normal. They are putting up a website to combat the disinformation being fomented by Trump and right wing media.
They need appropriations to be increased just as in any other unusual disaster cycle. The problem is that we are very likely to see “normal “ be considerably worse in the coming decades than prior, with bigger storms and fires.

Trump is egregiously lying AND he tanked the bill. Both facts. Not blame, facts.
One oh yeah, he’s projecting again as he himself indeed factored partisanship into allocation of FEMA disaster relief and is claiming that of Biden despite the protestations of both Republican and Democrats governors that this claim is nonsense.

This is the game........vote against anything that you think helps "other people". Then when it's your turn to suck the Federal Government dry, they "forget" that they voted to kill money to FEMA, and start collecting money.
I'm SO sick of the Republican party. Tired of the excuses as to why this is fine. Tired of them taking my money and then pretending it never happened.
Tired of sending my money to their States so that they can enjoy low taxes, yet they're on the full dole for Federal money.
I'd call their bluff and kill FEMA and the Dept of Education TOMORROW if you put me in charge. F them, cut them all off, and the voters and RightWingMedia that enable this sh*t.

Trump: would deal with aid questions depending which party they voted for. He did not want to approve aud fir CA with its fires. Aides had to show him how many R voters there are in Orange County before he would authorize. On the other end of the spectrum DeSantis asked cor a boost in aid to FL. Instead of the normal 75% FL got 100%. Trump was also very slow to approve the declarations. Traditionally they are approved upon request.
Is that a response to a fan?
If not, what is your response?
And should disaster aid Ever have anything to do with whether that State voted for the President?

Meanwhile: Oklahoma is ordering 55,000 bibles for its schools. The only 2 bibles that meet the specs are surprisingly endorsed by Trump.

No. What needs to happen is the folks who claim to not want Big Government to start with themselves: don't do government contracting. Don't attend State (government) schools....save your money and attend Private Universities. Same goes for K-12. Don't take FEMA money. Don't take subsidized Home loans. Don't take $3 from Medicare for every $1 you put in.
Start with by looking in the mirror. If those of you folks who claim to not want help from Big Government all put your money where your mouth is? The number of people using these government services and handouts will drop by 1/3rd overnight.
It's your call. Start with your own homes, with no one forcing you to do a thing.
I'll wait for y'all to do that. What's happening as you very well know....is that the EXACT opposite is happening. Those that claim to hate Big Government are the exact group of people who take the most.
You're doing it to yourselves. Pretty simple: it Big Gov is bad, stop taking their money. The size of government will plummet overnight.

Your playing a game of semantics and failing miserably in the process. FEMA shot their budgetary wad taking care of Bidens F**k up at the southern border. Now in true form the people responsible for Bidens F**k up at the southern border, to include dumb f**k Joe himself are trying to blame trump. So now America has been dealt a horrific blow via natural disaster and the FEMA cupboard is bare. So lets blame it on trump. We know that is true because I just heard so in a Kamala Harris campaign ad. And Kamala would never lie...SCLaxAttack wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 1:43 pmFEMA's mission statement directly from their web site ( https://www.fema.gov/about ):cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 11:47 amI'm not understanding the argument here. FEMA says they are almost broke and struggling to find resources. Since it has been the Joe show for 4 years how was that allowed to happen? The money went somewheres for 4 years. I'm sure it wasn't spent helping trump do landscaping at Mara Lago. So now the worst case scenario jumps up and bites FEMA in the ass. Hurricane Helene devastates the South and they chose to spend their money to cover Joe Harris' rear end.
