He received an E mail from his utility provider that it could be a month or longer until they get power back. The electric grid where they live was wiped out over a large area. They will need to beg, borrow and steal new transformers and related equipment. It will take a long time and some folks may never recover from all that they lost

FEMA is Not allocating or spending less on natural disaster relief than normal. They are putting up a website to combat the disinformation being fomented by Trump and right wing media.

They need appropriations to be increased just as in any other unusual disaster cycle. The problem is that we are very likely to see “normal “ be considerably worse in the coming decades than prior, with bigger storms and fires.
