Dad then goes out and purchases the assault rifle used in the murders as a Christmas gift for same kid.....and then moves to an adjacent county.
He should be in jail along with his kid.

Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and an AR-15….the American Way.
Colin Gray, the father of the suspect in the Apalachee High School shooting, has been arrested, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He’s charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children.
His 14-year-old son, accused of killing two students and two teachers with an AR-15-style rifle, told investigators “I did it” while being questioned, the Barrow County sheriff said. The student faces four counts of felony murder, according to charging documents obtained by CNN.
Colin Gray told investigators he purchased the gun used in the killings as a holiday present for his son in December 2023, according to two law enforcement sources. That would put the purchase months after authorities first interviewed the father and son as they investigated a school shooting threat.
During a search of the suspect’s home, authorities found documents they believe were written by the suspect and referenced past school shootings, a law enforcement source tells

I know a lot of families with kids at Sandy Hook that day….was on the phone with a Newton friend and he was wondering what all the sirens were about. Mind boggling stuff. How do you ever overcome that when it's you it happens to?
Am just not seeing much of a solution to the pollution of guns we have from the
amber waves of grain and from sea to shing sea. Too many guns and too hard to
control. Nore purchased every day, legally and illegally. See Colin Grey.

Lanza had a god given right to all those guns. The government can’t tell people what kind and how many weapons they can have…

Vance is a vapid, callow pud. His presence on the Republican ticket stands in stark contrast to that of Walz.
Trump/Vance perfectly embody this quote:
“Now, there's one thing you might have noticed I don't complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they scuk. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain't going to do any good; you're just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it's not the politicians who scuk. Maybe something else scuks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public scuks. There's a nice campaign slogan for somebody: 'The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.”

And through all of the outrage on this forum none of you ever mentions the scourge of illegal weapons. When you add up the carnage night after night in urban America it never registers a blip on The Nightly News with Lester Holt. Not even a peep about how many people are shot in Chicago on a typical weekend.

What is your plan? How would you retrieve those weapons in circulation, and how would you limit the introduction of additional?

You never mention murders rates. Why don’t you give it a try. Re: Sensible Gun Safety
It starts with actually doing something to get illegal weapons out of the hands of 14 year olds. A year or so ago in NYS if you were caught with an illegal weapon law enforcement started the ball rolling. Law enforcement backtracks who sold the gun and where it originated from. If the weapon passed state lines the case is handed over to the ATF and the prosecution of the stolen weapon becomes a felony prosecuted by the US Government with a lengthy sentence in a federal prison. While it's not a perfect solution in all cases it is a start. At the very least it will let people know that if you bring an illegal gun across state lines and sell it don't get caught.PizzaSnake wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 3:05 pmOkay, I'll entertain this gambit.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 2:46 pm And through all of the outrage on this forum none of you ever mentions the scourge of illegal weapons. The possibility of time in a federal prison can be a big persuader. Any juvenile caught with an illegal weapon should face serious charges so they understand that being 14 years old doesn't mean you can't go to a correctional facility for youths. This is harsh stuff but it will send a message loud and clear. There is no fear at present about possessing an illegal weapon because the legal system doesn't take the problem seriously.

Dealing in stereotypes? The kids parents should be charged and tried with stiff penalties. Is recidivism a word you know?
