Yes, not the only one who did so when not allowed to play a year. I can’t recall names off top of my head.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:23 amDel Dressel played a season there after he left Harvard.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:21 amMy dad and numerous of his buddies played for the Wolfpack in their heyday. I remember seeing many of these games as a little kid . After his ‘retirement’ we would sit behind the goal in the stands just a few yards beyond the end line. No net, you needed to keep an eye on the ball for missed shots.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:42 amLooks like Princeton. I heard many stories about MWLC. Was thrilled when I took my first trip there for drinks.
They rarely lost, each season playing top college teams and the handful of other top post college clubs.
I was invited to play but was living in Alexandria at the time, so a long hike. And I knew that my HS rivals Michael Federico and Bobby Clements were joining that year as well….they had just split 1st Team AA honors, so I figured to likely just be shooting drill fodder. The only club ball I ended up playing was a couple of years for the Harvard grad team when my wife was at HBS, fun as I agreed with the caveat that I wanted to play a half at midfield. Bunch of my buddies played for the Wolfpack though…it was the last era pre ‘pro’….
