Beaches surrounded by farms. We can call it sandy soil
salisbury is 30 miles from the beaches. not really a beach town
Yes, I’m aware, just play along

Salisbury the town is a dangerous place very high crime rate. Don't know how that impacts the campus, probably not much.

ehhh. every town has bad parts. i wouldn’t have an issue with my daughter walking anywhere around or near campus. the bad parts are condensed together.
newport news has bad parts, and some very nice parts
boston/medford the same.

Parts of Boston for sure. Parts of Somerville (1/2 of Tufts is in Somerville think Winter Hill Gang, Whitey Bulger, Mystic Ave projects) yes. Medford no, not anymore.

For sure. Not a men’s lax school but, USC is not in a great area. Hop/Loyola are in a bad neighborhood. Dook has gotten much better but was a very rough city not long ago. I’m sure there are many other examples. That said, USC, Hop, Loyola and Dook are, and always have been, desirable locations despite the adjacent neighborhoods.

Good point, I believe that is directed at me, or at least should be. And, as a Cornell alum, I should know that! Ha ha… Anywho, that said, I’d rather go to Baltimore rather than upstate New York in the middle of March all day long!!

It amazes me how little people know before they speak about the Hopkins neighborhood. Adjacent neighborhoods are Guilford, Roland Park, Charles Village, Oakenshaw, Hamden and Remington. These are not Clinton or Hamilton but for a large city like Baltimore they range from upscale to a minimum of funky, none of them being bad.

No, there are definitely some bad neighborhoods, safety wise, at least when it comes to crime, if that’s how you define bad, in Baltimore near Hop. Personally, I wouldn’t preclude my kid from going to Hop because of this, but, I know there are some who would.

Totally. Back in the day, Englewood, NJ, had The Sugar Hill Gang. Had to steer clear. I mean, the macaroni was soggy, the peas were mushed, and the chicken tasted like wood. :D

The neighborhoods I mentioned are the ones that surround Hop. I guarantee you that as big city neighborhoods they are not bad. I wouldn’t suggest that it would be a good idea for my daughter to walk through campus alone after dark but neither would it be a good idea to walk through Cornell,Colgate,Hamilton or Georgetown. Personally I have no fear in those neighborhoods but then I know Baltimore really well.

OK, I think those are very fair statements. Which is why I had no problem paying for my daughter’s Uber trips when they were in college! However, I do think there is the perception that Hopkins campus is in a dangerous area. Not unlike USC and West LA. And we’ve seen on many many occasions, as the old saying goes, perception becomes reality. No doubt it’s a great university with a storied lacrosse history. And, IMHO, an outstanding head coach who is moving that program in the right direction.

Well there’s a shocker!! LOL! Whatever. It’s a silly lacrosse forum thread. Sorry if you're slightly disjointed by the direction for the topic. Let’s all try to do better moving forward. 🤣🤣

Friday
W&L vs St Lawrence
RIT vs Dickinson
Tufts vs Hamilton
CNU vs Gettysburg
Stevenson vs Lynchburg

Saturday
Dickinson vs W&L
Gettysburg vs Hamilton
Lynchburg vs CNU
Tufts vs RIT
Stevenson vs St Lawrence

Tufts gets the same matchups as 2024
Stevenson vs Lynchburg again

9 of 10 teams return from 2024. only change is York out and Gettysburg in.
My 2 cents - Although Tufts vs RIT will be a great game, it seems like that should be a regular season game. Same for Lynchburg vs CNU. Those two game should swap opponents for a couple more North vs South matchups. Why travel all the way to Maryland to play a team that is already in the same region?
