Tufts 2025 champs?
I say they will play against RIT again in semis or finals (depending on bracket). With Jumbos getting W.

I thinks it’s entirely possible. I do however think they will face tough in-conference competition from Wesleyan. How those matchups go might well wind up being the defining factor for the 2025 campaign.

Re: Tufts 2025
The NESCAC is always a bear. I just think push come to shove, tufts is just better than the NESCAC and ncaa field.
Re: Tufts 2025
Out of curiosity is Daly still coaching?
Re: Tufts 2025
Better when? 4 out of the last 14 years? So are the Gulls. 5 out of the last 14. I don't see Tufts as infallible. They play a wonderful version of the game, but they are not immune to the field. There were some interesting posts on here, or maybe laxpower, about head coaches winning NCs with total roster turnover. That is impressive as hell. Let's see if Casey does it.

I'm sorry? Did he win a NC after his NC winning roster was gone? Meaning, they are no longer enrolled and playing at Tufts. And then Tufts wins another Chip?

Re: Tufts 2025
I think he meant this year was after a complete roster turnover, Tufts lost 3 massive offensive stars and the vast majority of their points, their FOGO to Cuse, much of the D and won the NC. That is pretty much the definition of winning after a complete roster turnover. If you mean he hasn’t won, then turned the roster over and then won again the next year, that is true. We won’t get to see that put to the test this year of course because Tufts lost less than I would be willing to bet any NC team in lax history.MVPiccoli wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 10:10 pm I'm sorry? Re: Tufts 2025
That's fine, and Tufts hadn't won one since 2015, under Daly. I'm not hating on Tufts or Casey. Amazing program and modern coach. I'm just saying. Daly, Berkman, and Nelson are the only HCs (in the post-Hobart era) to win a NC and then another one 4+ years later. Cortland did it with two different toppers.pcowlax wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:46 pmI think he meant this year was after a complete roster turnover, Tufts lost 3 massive offensive stars and the vast majority of their points, their FOGO to Cuse, much of the D and won the NC. Re: Tufts 2025
Realistically speaking, how many programs are equipped to do that? Curious how short/long you think the list could be. D-III is just so top heavy that at least for me it feels like everyone outside of Tufts/RIT/Salisbury has to have everything go their way just to win one title...and then have that happen again, half a decade later.

Re: Tufts 2025
RIT and Tufts need about 20 more years of realistic NC shot teams before they’re put in conversation with Salisbury. Not close, not yet.
Re: Tufts 2025
Feel that. I think there are so many great programs now. It's a combination of a lot of factors for sure. We've had three 1st time NC winners the last 10 years (2014-2024). Wesleyan, Cabrini (RIP baby) and RIT. The same number of 1st time winners as the decade before (2004-2014). Tufts, Stevenson, and Cortland. Which is the same number as the first time winners the decade before that (1994-2004). Salisbury, Middlebury, and WAC. Kinda crazy actually. So, odds are, three new programs will win a Natty between now and 2034. Who will they be?ah23 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 10:36 pmRealistically speaking, how many programs are equipped to do that? Hey potentially imbecilic Tufts hater, RIT needs 20,Tufts more like 10. Do your research fwad.choochooCharlie wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 1:35 pm RIT and Tufts need about 20 more years of realistic NC shot teams before they’re put in conversation with Salisbury. Not close, not yet.

So you’re arguing about who’s the better #2 team behind Salisbury? Now that’s funny.Unknown Participant wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 8:26 pmHey potentially imbecilic Tufts hater, RIT needs 20,Tufts more like 10. RIT made Final Four or better appearances in 84, 85, 87, 99, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24.
That’s compared to Tufts’ 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24. So while they’re both nowhere near Salisbury in terms of championships (or even championship caliber teams), RIT is clearly quite a bit ahead of Tufts.
Re: Tufts 2025
Not positive I’m reading this right (and please correct me if I’m wrong) but, are you guys coronating Salisbury as the #1 D3 program of all time? If so, your memories are a little too short. Hobart won the first 12 and 13 of the initial 14. Obviously they then moved up to D1 but give some props and respect where respect is due to Coach U (Coach O’Hara too) and the Statesmen please. Still the #1 all time D3 lax program in history. Of current D3 programs, Salisbury is head and shoulders above the rest, historically speaking. Hey, what Berkman has done is legendary, HOF caliber over his career but, unfair to try to compare current younger coaches and their programs to him. This is somewhat of a futile convo that has the potential to go off the rails….shocker!! Haha!! Not even sure why it’s on Tufts thread….actually, yes I am. Roll Bos!!Motorman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 8:47 pmSo you’re arguing about who’s the better #2 team behind Salisbury?
