Plus she has only coached a the NAIA level has no NCAA experience, doesn't know the rules or level of play she is getting into, looking at her former team their record was average and roster sizes low does not sound like she is ready for D1. To me it looks like UDM is throwing their hands up, saying we give up we have been through x amount of coaches, no sense in posting the job lets take the easier route and not waste anytime or effort on the program. If I was a player or parent I would be questioning how much do they care about this program and look other where.

It’s the 119th ranked team. Sam Apuzzo isn’t going to coach there. People have to start getting experience somewhere and this is how it happens. Has nothing to do with the admin throwing up their hands. I have no idea who the coach is or how long she’s been there, but this is how coaches get experience.

I would tend to agree. Detroit Mercy is a niche school when it comes to academics and they have some limitations on the ability to pull recruits as a result.

She finished with 41 goals and eight assists, scoring in 14 of the 17 games, and earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST first team. That was her second appearance on the first team, as she also garnered the honor in 2022 when she also was first-team IWLCA All-Region.”

Talented players and likely solid future coaches for sure, but I don't think the loss of Sear for ND can be understated. His addition 2 years ago was a key reason for ND's offensive resurgence. (You can also look to see what happened to Michigan after he left.)

Adam was an amazing assistant and was loved by virtually everyone that’s worked with him. It was a big loss when he left Michigan and ND will feel it, too. I can’t say Halfpenny is the most loved coach at all.

Notre Dame would have seemed to be above handing the offense to a second year coach and a first year coach regardless of how good they are. Offensive coaching will be really important there with all the losses on offense.
