"stepping down" is a long way from "chopping block". but noted.boblaxnj wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 4:25 pmRight after the season ended I was told through a parent that he would be “stepping down”. Recently heard from a pretty well know HS head coach in the area that he has been noticeably absent on the recruiting trail this summer also. Could absolutely be coincidental but felt it was worth noting.backerzone wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 9:59 amChopping block? This is laughable.Laxfather68 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 5:12 pm Heard Coach Peluso at Stevens is on the chopping block after very negative end of the year reviews. I know it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but does anyone know anything else about this? I was told through the grapevine and a pretty reliable source but wanted to see if anyone else had heard anything similar? I’d imagine that would be a very intriguing job if this were the case

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
100%. They have a P/T HC, how great could the compensation for the ACs be? Looks like they have had a ton on staff each year as well. This doesn't mean there isn't some validity in the rotating door due to treatment, but to just assume that is the only reason guys leave is just misinformed on the landscape of D3 athletics & pay.River Donkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 11:52 pm I wouldn’t say the revolving door of assistant coaches would indicate something bad, more like he was hiring qualified candidates who were able to move on to better paying positions. It’s how D3 works..

If only that were the case, sadly it’s not.River Donkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 11:52 pm I wouldn’t say the revolving door of assistant coaches would indicate something bad, more like he was hiring qualified candidates who were able to move on to better paying positions. It’s how D3 works..

Looks like the best job now is Kean even though it is PT.

Just a guess but being a state job even tho they are part time I would be surprised if they have interviewed yet, guessing early august start interviews and then make a decision right around Labor Day, if not into September

Shelly is far from a saint and there is no middle ground; you're either a shelly guy or you're not and he will let you know if you are not a shelly guy but at the end of the day there is plenty of blame to go around as why they made a move but there is no doubt he was the right guy for that job especially with it being PT, going to find a tough time that dedicated to the program for PT paylaxrules wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 8:10 pmComments like that are what I am referring to. You haven’t been too supportive of your kid’s coach. Making it sound like there has been a problem for years?? Cmon come clean you or/and other parents were involved.Parents? Parents played no role in this. He did it to himself. From the stories I’ve heard it’s a wonder he lasted as long as he did.
Now the program is going to hire a part time guy? Bad look for Kean.

Laxdad1434 is not in the know. I may be biased, but I’d argue that Potsdam is the best opening currentlyMajorMacLax18 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 12:46 pm Looks like the best job now is Kean even though it is PT.

Just a coincidence friend! Would be something I’d love to see though. Myron seemed to be a great worker and has some great knowledge of the program. Berk has also worked with him already so I’m sure he’d serve in an advisory role.
