Brown and Penn most active (in addition to Burkinshaw Penn also admitted a great FOGO transfer in 2019). Princeton, Harvard, and Dartmouth have not taken transfers in lax so far as I know other than the DIII Yager transfer to Harvard which maybe is considered differently by Harvard Admissions. Cornell has taken a transfer on occasion (Abladian in 2022). Yale had the hugely impactful TD transfer in 2019 but none I can recall before and none after (and has changed athletic directors so don’t know if it’s even possible.)DA/PU wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 11:38 amMuch to my dismay Princeton does not take transfers. Seems like the admin takes pride in being the most strict in the league (see their disastrous Covid policies). To my knowledge all of the other ivies take transfers, but vary in terms of how active they are with it and what sports take transfers. Off the top of my head Yale and Penn have been most willing recently to take transfers.JeremyCuse wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 5:30 pmI thought Princeton and a few other's didn't but maybe your right.norcalhop wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 5:25 pmHm, I think every lax ivy allows transfers?JeremyCuse wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 5:09 pmThat would make sense, Penn one of few IVY's who takes transfers and he'd certainly be a Day 1 starter.GaitsRightHand wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 5:00 pm Called someone a lil more in the know. Yes but covid is a free 5th year for everyone. Let's say next year in 2025 he's using his "medical redshirt" from 2021. He'd technically still have a redshirt from 2020.wgdsr wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 3:41 pmhe has used 3 eligibility seasons. has 1 left.GaitsRightHand wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 3:36 pmReally good player. Saw he played in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024 at Fairfield. 2021 redshirt.
2020 Covid + 2021 medical redshirt? Seems like he can potentially play 2 years?
Talked to a coach who's all over the portal. Said the decision would be up to him and he'd need an NCAA Waiver- which he likely would get since 2021 was a medical redshirt.
2020- Covid RS (Free redshirt for every player in NCAA)
2021- Medical RS
2022- RS Frosh
2023- RS Soph
2024- RS Jr
2025- RS Sr (Medical redshirt)
2026- RS GR (Covid redshirt)

Ty is a good man, but I doubt Tillman would discuss the situation with him. It could be coincidental, of course, but no matter, I think the Terps come out far ahead here.

I keep thinking Notre Dame, which had BJ Burlace as a reserve last year via transfer and has younger brother Gavin on the roster, might make a play for Colin Burlace. Just a hunch.rolldodge wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 2:41 pm Ty Xanders

attackman Eric Malever has entered the portal as a grad transfer, per a source. Posting 15g/22a as a senior, the former Top 10 recruit racked up 105 points in three seasons in College Park, missing all of 2023 after putting up 48 points for the national champs in ‘22.

I don’t know why you are trying to will this into reality…Burlace will likely be the Terps top defender next year, he isn’t going anywhere. And Notre Dame can’t “make a play” unless the player enters the portal (he hasn’t), otherwise it is blatant tampering. BJ left because he wasn’t going to see the field at Maryland. The Orfling wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:20 amI keep thinking Notre Dame, which had BJ Burlace as a reserve last year via transfer and has younger brother Gavin on the roster, might make a play for Colin Burlace. Nah. Ford has one year left. You get four seasons. He's already played three, so 2025 would be his fourth and final. There's only one redshirt left to use.GaitsRightHand wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:13 amYes but covid is a free 5th year for everyone. Hopfans right, you only get four years of actual on field play. Whether 21 was a med redshirt or not is irrelevant. 2020 was his free year and he used a RS in 21. Played in 22, 23 24 and now next season. Only chance he would have for another year would be if he got hurt pre-season or early next year and applied for another Med RS.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:35 amNah. Ford has one year left. Bowdoin FO Ethan Banard heading to Rutgers. I believe he was originally a Vermont commit until he flipped to Bowdoin. Good player.

Logjam at attack. From what I was told SU nearly blew his redshirt his frosh year but decided against it. He ended up transferring to Maryland due to unrelated off the field stuff. Don't believe if he had played it would have made a difference.laxfanctfc wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:59 amDid he red-shirt because of an injury or was there a player logjam?JeremyCuse wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:56 amYour info on Wisnauskas is incorrect. Bowdoin Fogo Ethan Barnard to Rutgers. Never had a season below 60% and 450+ gb's in the past 3 years.
Re: Transfer Portal 2025
I agree this is an odd comment on Colin. BJ transferred because he graduated. Guess ND had the grad degree he wanted and allowed him to be on a team with his younger brother. Doubtful they ever played on the same team give their ages.NYterp09 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:33 amI don’t know why you are trying to will this into reality…Burlace will likely be the Terps top defender next year, he isn’t going anywhere. You could be correct. All I know is what I was told, which was Cuse had 3 attack men with points returning in ‘18, and Desko told him he would not start over those three: Rehfuss, Solomon and Voight. But to be fair, I absolutely do not know anything more.

Rhefuss, Solomon and Bomberry started at attack in 2018. Voight was a man-up specialist. You may be right, but I always thought that the understanding was Wisknaukus would start at attack in '18. It is what it is at this point and probably doesn't serve much purpose to relitigate players who aren't even playing college lacrosse anymore.
