Bought a ticket for the dinner; I like to go when I can. Thought I'd be out of town but am staying local. It's a good event and the T Foundation has done a nice job in building up the live event over the years. I'm predicting either a Liam E or a Liam E/Pat Kav shared win.

The Orfling wrote: Wed May 29, 2024 9:42 pm The announcers love football! When Yale had its great shorty combo of Tyler Warner and Jason Alessi, you would have thought Jason Alessi's name full name was "Jason Alessi Who Has Returned Two Punts for Touchdowns for the Yale Football Team." And they loved mentioning football for Maryland's Dante Trader and Navy's Xavier Arline.

Re: fan bases, post pandemic I can attest that high school student section behavior has gotten really edgy and sometimes ugly, and I'm not surprised if that's happening at the college level too. I've never seen ND's fan base as problematic (and I've been to a few games in person if never to Arlotta) although every college can have some loudmouths that leave a sour taste for those trying to just focus on the games.

Again -- congrats to the Notre Dame faithful. Great run and it might not be over. Cheers.
The Rabils, Carc, Anish, et al keep trying to legitimize the sport with the whole “look our guys are athletic enough to play football too” schtick, while anyone over 12 with a brain stopped caring about the “not a real sport” commentary long ago.
While some bow to Rabil, when you think intellect do you think Rabil,Quint, Amish and Carc the flat brimmed way too old wanna be bro? I like to learn from people smarter than I, books and first hand experiences not a bunch of knuckleheads who parade around tv like vintage Tom Green.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Shelly and P Kav both with 4.7 ppg. Shelly only 4 more points with an extra game played. P kav out ground balled him, and had 17 less turnovers on the year. P kav lead the team to another championship with 6 points, Shelly with 2 against Maryland in the semis. Shelly is a tremendous player but there’s no shot he’s more deserving this season.

Can't happen, youth, gotta be a separate award for GKs.
Might be the MVP on a team but just too many phases of
the game they don't play to be considered the best in the
game. Comes with the territory when you play in an 18'
circle.
It loses it's validity? I lost interest in it a long time ago,
it's essentially a goal scorers award.

That has been my same argument, its why it needs to be someone 'other than' a goal scorer.

Well-deserved. I'm a little disappointed for Shellenberger, but there are worse things in life.

What a great ceremony. All 10 of the finalists were incredibly gracious in signing autographs for young fans. Our sport is so well represented. The Kavanagh family is incredibly nice and it was really rewarding seeing how excited they were for their brother and son. I highly encourage folks to try to get to this award ceremony in a future year, it is better than ever.

Congratulations to Pat Kavanaugh. He would have received my vote.

As for Shellenberger … hey, even Paul Rabil never won the Tewaaraton.
