Melkonian mvp 23 for 24 on faceoffs but credit to set they showed a lot of heart played so close with only winning 1 faceoff

Mirror opposite of last year…. Definitely a credit to them for keeping it so close. Cyclones vs EI should be a great matchup

According to BLaxeight.com, South Side had zero assists. Not good going forward vs. EI.

SS definitely had a couple assisted goals so the stats are wrong. Melkonian had one just before the half.

Had someone asked me after Thursday night, I would have said EI is the best team on LI. But I was very impressed by SS’s athleticism as they went after the Manhasset poles with a ton of success from the 2nd Q on. Thought Set waited to long to adjust to that.

X-Factor is Faceoffs.
Melkonian has lost 3 face-offs and is at 94% in the Nassau playoffs. EI doesn’t have a FOGO and is using the LSM Kalinowski to muck it up.

I've seen them several times. They're excellent; possibly the best 1st midfield on LI. They're very deep, and all 6 players on offense are threats. Very well coached. How they deal with Melkonian at the face-off x will be key. They get excellent wing play, and they're relentless off the ground.

Don’t forget their goalie. Walendowski is excellent; a D1 commit (Villanova). He could be the difference in the game. South Side cannot afford to take weak shots.

I've seen SouthSide too. The B game should be a great matchup, and a lot of fun to watch. It's nice to see some new teams in the spotlight.

Possible he has not. First post re: L.I. and 5th overall. Someone may be having a bit of “fun”.
I wasn’t having fun…just felt Manhasset had a coin toss chance against GC.

But you two are the experts.

Well I didn't get my county championship. Have to settle for back to back national championships. Go Irish!

P.S. thanks flyerfan for all the players.

Haha, maybe the best team I've seen in a long time. Certainly the most dominant I can remember. Congrats

I haven’t seen any of Half Hollow Hills this year but I looked up their stats to see what Farmingdale would be up against - holy moly, these are some eye popping numbers. Nearly 200 goals just from three players? Sheesh, it could be a long day tomorrow for the Dalers, hopefully their defense is up for it.

Thanks! Honestly it's a big credit to the Chaminade program. They're good kids, they play hard, and they're winners. We're fortunate to have such a pipeline.

Keep in mind that they play a much weaker schedule than Farmingdale due to Suffolk's dumb league structure and lack of ability to schedule more than 2 non league games.

That being said yeah those guys are every bit as good as advertised.
