Maryland defender Ajax Zappitello has been named the USILA's Lt. Raymond J. Enners Outstanding Player of the Year. He was the lone unanimous vote-getter for the USILA's voting.

Very unusual.
But a good call.

Adler could just as well have been the Player of the Year as a defenseman, also.

Excited to see Lyght get the respect he deserves. Dobson on 2nd team is... interesting.

Not a great list but not bad.

The only things that stood out to me were:
- Ben Wayer got snubbed. He’s at worst a 2nd Team AA. 92 GB’s, 27 Caused Turnovers, and 13 points is an insane state line. Especially with the tough schedule UVA played.
- I would swap Mclane with Dobson on the 2nd team. He’s been way more productive and you can’t use the excuse of Mclane goes against a shorty because Dobson has also gotten the shorty a lot this year due to Faison’s dodging ability.
- Brandau should be a first teamer over O’Neill or Kav. Pretty self explanatory but O’Neill had some stinkers this year. Great player but his name definitely carried him to the 1st team.

If you are not regularly getting a long pole, you probably should not be an All-American.

Agreed. Middie of the year last year did not get that long pole though. Schutz did.

I dont remember who got it last year, but this year Knoblach certainly did. Where a team choses to put a long pole is the truest form of respect or disrespect an opposing coach can show.

he actually got the pole plenty, just not all the time. teams also more than rarely shorted dickson or cormier and double poled the midfield.

Teams often poled Knobloch and Kurdyla shorting the third attackman. Definitely a trend in college lacrosse. Poling Knobloch was irrelevant. There wasn't anyone in college who could guard him with any real consistency.

Kurdyla will be special himself. One might argue he has more natural gifts than Knobloch. Will he develop in the same way is what will be interesting to watch.

O'Neill gets in on reputation over Brandau who actually did it on the field.

Knobloch and Dobson are the only two midfields who consistently dodged and beat the pole covering them

Exactly, this is starting to drive me crazy. they care about media hype more than the actual results on the field.
