Yale v UVa - should VA bother showing up?
Yale v UVa - should VA bother showing up?
Granted, the Hoos are huge underdogs- what can they do to even make it a contest?
Re: Yale v UVa - should VA bother showing up?
Hoos have lots of offensive firepower, and the Bulldogs don't exactly have the most rock solid defense. I would be surprised if the Yale weren't on the way to being both the highest scoring as well as most scored upon team in tournament history regardless of Monday's outcome. Should be a very entertaining game.

Lars Tiffany could sell his soul to the devil.
So there’s always that option

He already did for leaving Brown for Virginia.

Duke was favored. Penn State was heavily favored. No one knows anything until they play the game.

I wouldn’t be so cocksure UVA loses Monday. In fact, I like their chances.

Virginia should show up, if for no other reason than to partake of the post-game buffet ... probably a $20 per person value.
Plus, they might actually win.

It's anyone's game. As noted on another thread, if the Penn State game plan was to wear down TD Ierlan, that's a factor. Managing fatigue is a factor for both squads.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 7:50 pm I wouldn’t be so cocksure UVA loses Monday. In fact, I like their chances.

UVa blew up the House That Ralph Built, U-Hall, today at 10 AM.
And Ralph got to push the button!

If reversion to the mean holds, Starr may actually save some Monday. Otherwise UVa has a good shot if faceoff wins > 45%. Starr sucks.

We already watched the 2019 National Championship game. It was Penn-Yale III in the quarterfinals.
Re: Yale v UVa - should VA bother showing up?
Why did the #1 seed have to play the 2nd game?
Re: Yale v UVa - should VA bother showing up?
ESPN may have had a say in it for the better ratings window.

bearlaxfan, that’s disappointing language from you about a college sophomore. I was at the game and although I’m sure #23 would want some of the shots back, most of those goals did not look saveable. For example, the 3 EMO goals or the three FOGO unassisted fast break goals. Penn State can SCORE—they got 21 goals past Stover, a 1st Team All-American, earlier in the tournament, and Edelman of Rutgers, a 3rd team All-American, gave up 18 and saved 40% in the Big 10 tournament.bearlaxfan wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 8:08 pm If reversion to the mean holds, Starr may actually save some Monday. If Ierlan goes 28 for 39 again, Yale isn't losing to anyone. Maybe ever again. Until he graduates. God help us all (non-Yale fans).
Watching both teams ride will be fun, too. Both teams really sell out on the ride, so hopefully we'll see some crazy stuff off of turnovers. UVA hasn't been able to create as much havoc between the restraining lines these past 2 games as they did all season, but they've got a really good, athletic top 6 on offense.
If anyone trots out the "TD will be tired" argument, so too will UVA after their 2 OT game. Even Steven....

orfling: agreed, not my best moment, poor phrasing. He was not good today; I will stand by that. 2 saves into the 4th qtr, both were shots that basically hit him in the body.
If he were playing at even an HM All-American level, say 53-55%, Yale wouldn't need to break a sweat to win the championship, despite the downtick in their defensive efficiency.
