I have heard of a very recognizable name threatening to hit the portal, if he doesnt get more NIL. I am not going to say the name, but something I wasnt really expecting to see in lacrosse. PLL makes 50-80K. What should college player get?
In 2022 PLL rookies signed 3 year contracts for $25K/year, and it was a pro rata share based on actually playing, not just being on the 25 man roster. Rank and file players don't make much.

Hm...I wonder who in TarNation the player is.

It's nice to talk about transfers but some of these schools have massive backloads of kids they've recruited, developed, educated, trained, built relationships with and not played because of covid veterans and transfers. Hopkins has 3 jr/soph/frosh classes this year that have been almost completely blocked by the 15-20+srs/grad students and transfers who've played. You add in the freshmen coming in next year and none of those 4 classes having extra covid years anymore and you ask why it would just add kids who don't offer a whole lot more and won't be around as long as what it already has. They added a player at a position which will be decimated by graduation and is a lot harder to develop but from a Hopkins standpoint I'm not sure unless it's a star or guy from an area where they feel like the depth is going to be depleted it makes any sense whatsoever to just add another body.
This is one of those being right isn’t right.
Yes what you say is generally true.
Then when man walks out of the cave the actual world illustrates that a lot of HCs who share a while of of character traits will need a change of underwear and a cigarette every time they have a clear opportunity to bring in any talented kid they can.
So the point is far more, multiples of, kids will be waived in as transfers than should be based on circumstance and existing rosters. Where reality derails from theory.

Given UNCs history with athletics can’t they just redirect tobacco settlement securitization funds (intended to be spent on health are for smokers health issues but never really happened) to just lock and load this team for like $400k a year? You’re only paying 10-15 kids really and nobody’s getting six figures

Anybody have insight into the transfer logistics/economics for West Point? Do they just push back their service requirement? Owe money back if they leave early? Just curious
Let's just say they didn't "voluntarily" enter the portal. So, I am not sure what will happen or the repercussions for them in this case.
If they leave before junior year no money owed, no service just leave.
That's what I thought with the pole at OSU. But wasn't entirely sure.
Somebody is going to win the Johnny Hackett sweepstakes. On the right team he will be the top scoring middie in the country. Kid is lightning quick with a great shot.

Why?
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

All sorts of reasons. Folks tend to make it mostly about playing time but that’s often not the case. Distance, cost, major, team chemistry, jerk coaches, school support, etc.

I know there have been a bunch of other rumors in this thread but not gonna add those to this list till they've been confirmed in some way — we were burned by fake news last year.

Very curious where Chris Patterson ends up. Knew about him as a high schooler and was disappointed (no insult to statesmen intended) when he landed at Hobart. talented kid.

Interesting, very skilled finisher. He has I guess 2 years of eligibility (2021 COVID year and one more real year).
Think he graduated Bowdoin. This would be his last year in 2025.

Looks like your correct...
Played in 2022, 2023, and 2024 at Bowdoin. 1 year left.
