Fans are funny, so often see what they want to see. Yale fan (loudest one there) screaming at the official(s), "Do better, PLEASE!!!" Replay comes on and it's a clean cut crosscheck to the throat. You want a play on there? Next he's screaming for a new clock on a shot. Shot never made it to the cage, hit a player. Had to let him know that, he says, "That makes it an even worse call". Yeah, and your team still has the ball...shouldn't have it. Didn't say that part. Colored glasses really blur your vision (not restricted to this guy).

The quarters have been 3 of 4 blow outs. Boring and disappointing for the game in general.

I only had them as a -8.5 favorite so I guess I fall in that camp.

May 24 — Semifinals

5:30 p.m.| (2) Boston College vs. (3) Syracuse

I have to think about it a bit, but I am today skeptical that these will be competitive, in the sense of one-goal games and the risk of overtime, etc.

I was impressed with Florida when they beat UNC and UVA, and was pretty sure they would beat the Faux Fourth Seed -- and they did; it was literally never in doubt. Better ball handling, better shooting, more speed, better goalkeeping; there wasn't anything that Maryland did as well as Florida. And NU has parity on many of those things and much better offense than Maryland. So I'm thinking NU wins this semi by 6 or 7 goals.

Syracuse meets BC for the third time -- not the rubber game, because Cuse lost 10-11 in OT in Chestnut Hill, and then was murdered in Charlotte 15-8. I am just skeptical that Syracuse can get over the physical and mental humps here.
