Its simply not worth is for many reasons other than Title IX. The sport simply has not taken off in the state nearly as much as the IL - "Grow-The-Game" cult would have you believe.
None of the UC State schools will be picking up lacrosse any time soon.
I dont know what shape they are in under Title IX, but Oregon is the one big school I could see doing it. They are now in the Big 10. They have Nike behind them, so it would be a fit for its largest booster. The obvious dream scenario would be if 3 of the new Big 10 members picked up lacrosse.

Per Ty Xanders:

Start the rumors…who do you guys think? Ty makes it sound like there could be some assistants who’ve previously been HC in the running. I’m hearing two of the four are current HC…

Cross Commission posted this last night on Twitter with a thread.

https://x.com/college_crosse/status/179 ... 10392?s=46

“According to sources with insight into the situation; the following coaches are currently connected to the ongoing Brown head coaching search:

Princeton OC Jim Mitchell
North Carolina OC Jon Thompson
High Point HC Jon Torpey
Notre Dame OC Chris Wojcik”

“All four names have been head coaches at some point in their careers; and all four also have ties to the Ivy League, with Thompson (a Brown alumnus) being a one time assistant with the Bears; Torpey being a former assistant at Dartmouth; and Wojcik was previously HC at Harvard”

I wish him the best. We can hope that this will be one of the next examples of a so-called "unflashy" hire that ends up being good.

Will be interesting to see if it is a current college head coach or a current top assistant for a major program.

Torpey to Brown? If Thompson is dead set on becoming a HC again, I think he'd have a solid shot at the High Point job.

Brown & HPU missed out on Simon Connor at Nova, 19 years of running his high powered motion offense, could of had him on the cheap

Excellent hire for Brown. Fast and well-executed search. I think he'll have success sooner rather than later. It will be interesting to see if Brown brings in some transfers; they've had more activity than the other Ivies in the portal in the past several years and the school and athletic administration would certainly seem primed to offer support to their new coach.

Dawg the way you pimp him he’s looking more like the $2 toothless crack ho you see in 1985 Hunts Point. These folks are lookin for the elegant four figure ladies that can elevate your stature in a refined place, even if the transitional nature is obvious to the avg customer there, everyone understands there’s value in paying for that. Your guy is an escort that wouldn’t add value to your stature in an underground bare knuckles fight run by an evil character played by woody harrelson…

Less is more sometimes friend. Put some underwear on for gods sake! Maybe some lotion for that ashy skin too like Charlie Murphy demands.

I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

So, with Memorial Weekend here, the remainder of this week should involve some coaching announcements. Those that are open and those that will be open. What are we seeing or sensing is going to happen?

With the Torpey hire, remember that the best 2 Brown coaches were Lars & Dom both played at Brown, not an easy place to coach

Hearing that the Broschart/HPU announcement may have jumped the gun/been a mistake. Apparently, HPU has gotten a ton of interest from quality coaches.

Torpey was hired on 5/21... HPU had the HC position listed on 5/24:

Maybe there's a chance we'll see Broschart in Providence?
